At this point, everything finally seemed to be settling down.
Ariana decided to return to school and cancel her leave of absence. Now that the White Corporation was back on track, she didn't need to oversee everything at the company daily.
And with Lambert in charge of Lamari's affairs, Ariana didn't need to worry about it.
So, she decided to take this rare leisure time as a chance to return to school.
In response, Gilbert agreed with Ariana's decision.
Though Ariana was now involved in the company, whether she attended school or not really didn't matter. Most children from wealthy families hardly attended college, and instead helped at their family businesses, gaining practical knowledge from their exposure in the commercial world. But Gilbert thought Ariana was still young.
Taking some time to immerse herself in school wouldn't hurt.
She was growing up too fast, often causing Gilbert to worry that she might become too proud.
Thus, when Ariana proposed this idea, Gilbert agreed without hesitation.
And of course, there's no need to mention Lambert.
He was supportive of all his wife's decisions.
After all, being back in school was only for occasional classes, and she'd spend the majority of her time at White Corporation anyway. As such, whether she went back to school or not made little difference. Naturally, he wouldn't voice any objections.
And so, with everyone's agreement, Ariana decided to return to school and cancel her leave of absence.
Upon hearing this news, Fanny couldn't be happier.
She even promised to accompany Ariana when she returned to school to handle the cancellation procedure, and afterward, they would go out for afternoon tea.
Upon hearing this, Ariana couldn't help but laugh. Nonetheless, she agreed.
...
Ariana had just completed her leave cancellation from the school's principal's office. She was leisurely waiting for Fanny. But, the latter was being so slow that she had waited for her for a solid twenty minutes without a sign of her. Ariana couldn't help but feel a little helpless.
Just as she was pondering whether to give her a call, she surprisingly noticed someone familiar not far off.
It was evident that he, too, had noticed Ariana, and was gazing at her intently. Seeing that Ariana had seen him, he remained silent for a while and began to stroll over.
With an inscrutable smile playing on his lips and a far-off glaze in his eyes, he slightly pulled up the corners of his mouth and addressed her, "Ariana."
With complex emotions flickering in her eyes, Ariana looked at Griffin and finally nodded, “Senior Griffin.”
Hearing Ariana's address, Griffin's smile froze for a moment. But he continued to smile as if he hadn't noticed the cold distance in her attitude, "It's been a long time since we last met. Have you... been doing well?"
Ariana responded with a polite but bland smile, "Pretty good."
A sudden tightness seized Griffin's chest. His rationality told him it was better to leave now, but his emotions wouldn't let him move a step.
All he wanted was to take another look at Ariana even if it was just one more glance and chat with her even if she didn't really want to talk to him.
Thus, Ariana's dark pupils slightly froze.
Then, she slowly said, "I understand. But, Brother Griffin, I really have something to do."
It was always a clean and neat refusal, without room for compromise.
Griffin's heart was so uncomfortable that he could hardly breathe. He took a deep breath, smiled, and said, "Alright then, I won't bother you today. What about tomorrow? Do you have time? Or, any other time is fine."
Ariana: "......"
Ariana was really at a loss.
When faced with Griffin, who was cautious, forcing a smile and asking her expectantly, she really didn't know how to refuse him.
After thinking for a while, Ariana helplessly said, "How about... the day after tomorrow?"
Griffin's eyes immediately lit up. He quickly nodded and said, "Sure, the day after tomorrow works too!"
Seeing his excited eyes, Ariana felt a bit bothered. But thinking that she could clarify everything after meeting Griffin the day after tomorrow, the heavy stone in her heart didn't seem so unbearable. Ariana decided not to stand here any longer, she planned to find an excuse to leave.
Coincidentally at this time, Fanny finally came out.
Upon seeing Griffin standing next to Ariana, Fanny couldn't help but raise her eyebrows. She said to Ariana, "Ariana, let's go?" She didn't greet Griffin at all. From this, it can be seen that Fanny was well aware of Griffin and Beverly's scheme against Ariana.
So, she didn't have any good feelings towards him. Although she didn't know why Ariana was talking to him, Fanny showed she didn't want to talk to such a villain!
