Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 327

Beverly was pulled to a secluded area by Ronaldo.

With a cold expression, Ronaldo said, "What are you trying to do? Don't you know what occasion this is?"

Facing Ronaldo's reprimand, Beverly who was already in low spirits became utterly incensed. She looked at Ronaldo icily, then mockingly said, "Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me like that? You are nothing but a useless person–" Before she could finish her intended sentence, a slap landed squarely on Beverly's right cheek.

She was somewhat taken aback as she touched her face.

After she regained her composure, her anger surged. She raised her hand intending to slap back. But Ronaldo firmly caught her hand, his grip ice-cold.

Beverly angrily said, "Let go of me! What gives you the right to hit me?"

Ronaldo: "Because I'm your elder brother."

On hearing this, Beverly laughed. She squinted at Ronaldo with a derisive look in her eyes and snorted contemptuously. "You? Does a cripple want to be my brother? Let me give you an advise. It would be smart to return abroad instead of staying here if you know what's right for you. Otherwise, I fear your leg might break for the second time."

At this moment, Beverly was on the brink of collapse.

A series of recent events had piled upon her, a feeling she had never experienced before.

So much mockery, so much scorn…

Added to the provocation she'd just received from Lambert. Now, she was so upset that there was no room for reason. So, she didn't hesitate to blurt out things that normally she wouldn't dare to.

Perhaps because Ronaldo had just slapped her a small part of her brain was still clear.

So, after she spoke those reckless words, her face instantly paled. She realized she had said something wrong. Before she could recover and figure out how to rectify her mistake, the door to the secluded area was abruptly opened. Mrs. Lawrence quickly came to Beverly's side, anxiously and panickily said, "What nonsense are you talking about!"

Behind Mrs. Lawrence was Mr. Lawrence, his eyes deep and inscrutable.

Mr. Lawrence stared at Beverly without any emotion. He didn't force out any words. Instead, he said to Mrs. Lawrence, "Take her away. We should avoid any further embarrassment."

Mrs. Lawrence's face immediately turned ashen.

She wanted to explain, but when she looked at her husband's cold face, she instantly froze on the spot, unable to utter a word. She understood very clearly what her husband was suspecting. For a moment, she was irate with her daughter for behaving like an utter fool! If she had been slightly more lenient with Beverly, their only daughter, before, at this moment she wanted nothing more than to throttle her.

She never expected that the daughter she gave birth to did not inherit a shred of her intelligence.

Quite simply, she was incurably foolish.

Earlier, when her husband stopped her from entering the room, she stayed outside, listening expressionless. Even though Mrs. Lawrence was uneasy, she remained silent, hoping her daughter wouldn't say anything outrageous. As it turned out, not only did her daughter speak up, but she also spilled the beans about everything that had been done in the past.

At that moment, Mrs. Lawrence's face had turned ashen grey--

Therefore, without caring for anything else, she pushed open the door to stop Beverly from saying more.

However, it now became clear that she was still too late.

Ariana had thought that Old Mr. Stone's invitation was a casual courtesy, but it seemed he really intended for them to stay at the Stone residence for the night... Ariana looked silently at Lambert, who was also frowning, obviously not wanting to stay.

At this time, Aunt Khloe stepped in to smooth things over, laughing. "Young people do prefer their own world, Dad. If Lambert and Ariana really want to go, let them go. It's just one night after all."

Who’d have thought that Old Mr. Stone - who had been in a good mood all day - instantly turned solemn after hearing these words?

He retorted coldly, "They have been so inseparable, don’t they have time to accompany their parents and elders?"

Aunt Khloe's smile instantly froze on her face.

She hadn't expected Old Mr. Stone to be so blunt, showing this cold side in front of their juniors. This was a first for her, so she stiffened.

Her husband stepped in to ease the situation. "Yes, yes. Dad's right. Ever since Arnold married Beverly, they always stay in their own little world. We miss them terribly. Nowadays, even if youngsters want to live their own lives, they should spend more time with their parents and elders, right? Isn’t it so, third brother?"

Eldest Uncle wasn't sure what the old man was up to, so he cautiously chose to go along with it for now.

Hugh took the ladder his elder brother offered, nodded, and said, "Yes, your mother has been missing you for a few days. Stay for a few more days this time."

Old Mrs. Stone also cheerfully said, "That's enough. There's no need to spoil the mood." She smiled at Ariana, and said, "Your grandfather just wants the younger generation to spend more time with him. We can always talk about it another time if it's not convenient. There's no rush."

Ariana twitched the corner of her mouth. After all that was said and done, it would indeed be bad if she and Lambert insisted on leaving.

But just as she was about to speak on behalf of Lambert, she suddenly felt a wave of nausea welling up from her stomach and rushing into her throat.
