Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 329

Eldest Uncle was also somewhat heavy-hearted.

He also didn't know the meaning behind his parents' attitude, so he thought the same as his wife.

Was it possible that while Old Mr. Stone didn't say anything, he was upset deep down because Beverly was carrying another man's child? Therefore, was he using the news of Lambert's wife's pregnancy to express his disappointment and dissatisfaction with Arnold?

Otherwise, how could one explain Old Mr. Stone's protection of a great-grandson with whom he had no blood ties?

Thinking of this, Eldest Uncle and Aunt both went pale.

They detested Beverly at this time. If not for her, how would their son have lost the favor of Old Mr. Stone? Eldest Uncle became angrier the more he thought about it, his whole face turning ashen. He would have raged by now if there weren't too many people around! The second uncle's family thought the same as the first, also feeling that Old Mr. Stone was shaming them.

With this, the second family suddenly became smug.

Even the amusement from hearing Ariana's pregnancy seemed more genuine than before.

They felt some use in the third family after all. They really know how to seize the moment to get pregnant. Good on them, it seemed like luck wasn't on their side after all!

...

Speaking of Ariana,

Lambert knew that Ariana didn't want to stay in the Stone residence, and he didn't intend for her to either, so he directly declined. Even when Old Mr. Stone's brow furrowed in displeasure, he didn't waver even slightly. It was the old lady who, fearing another confrontation between this grandfather and grandson pair over a trivial matter like before, quickly played the diplomat, laughing, "Alright alright, Lambert has just become a father, let them go back if they wish to. But stay for tonight, let us all share in the joy."

With it being said this way, Lambert couldn't refuse any further.

So he slightly nodded his agreement.

Seeing this, Old Mr. Stone finally seemed to lighten up a bit.

Hugh and Jolene breathed a sigh of relief instantly. They were genuinely worried that the stubborn young man, Lambert, could cause another uproar with the old man. That would cause trouble indeed.

To their relief, the boy was not as hot-tempered as he used to be, knowing now to consider the bigger picture and stay calm.

Unbeknownst to them, Lambert had known all this long ago.

He just didn't feel like using this tact with the old man.

That night, the two of them stayed at the Stone household, in their old bedroom. However, Old Mrs. Stone, fearing that Ariana's unborn child might get troubled due to some unnecessary accident, had instructed the servants to tidy the room again. Especially ordering to replace the sharp-edged objects with round smooth ones.

Looking at the arrangements, Ariana couldn't help but feel somewhat at a loss. "I feel like I've turned into a delicate doll now."

As Lambert was gently stroking Ariana's belly, he chuckled, "Just about." Saying so, he bent down to get closer to Ariana's belly, seemingly wanting to sense the movements of their unborn daughter. Unlike the expectations of the rest of the Stone family, Lambert would be quite pleased if their firstborn was a daughter.

He didn't have a particular fondness for sons.

Of course, for the sake of inheriting his family business, he could reluctantly accept having a son.

Watching Lambert's actions, Ariana couldn't help but comment, "It's only early pregnancy..." What could possibly be noticeable? It's just the size of a small pea.

Can you shift the blame any more accurately?

Ariana silently swallowed her retorts, then raised her head to Lambert, "You were the one who previously said to wait for a later time to have children..."

Lambert interrupted, "That was before."

Ariana fell silent again.

Ariana quietly looked at Lambert, who returned her gaze without backing down. After a while of staring at each other, Ariana finally spoke, "....Alright then." After all, she wasn’t completely opposed to the arrival of a child. Especially after seeing Allison having a child, she felt a bit swayed by the atmosphere.

Though it might affect her control over the White family.

Fortunately, she had won over and organized most of the White Corporation. With Jane not around, temporarily leaving to have the child wouldn't really hurt.

Lambert closely observed Ariana's expression.

Satisfied that she wasn't vehemently against having a child, he felt an immediate relief washed over him. However, his relief was quickly followed by a pang of guilt. He knew that it wasn't easy for Ariana to establish her position in the White Corporation, and the arrival of this child would inevitably cost her something. Thus, Lambert couldn't help but feel a twinge of pain in his heart.

He glanced at Ariana and then at her flat stomach. After a lengthy pause, he whispered, "Sorry, Ariana. I know this child came unexpectedly. I..."

Before he could finish his words, Ariana shook her head at him, and moved closer to his face, chuckling softly, "It's fine. I wanted to take a break anyway. Still, you better be prepared. I've heard that pregnant women can have large tempers."

At her words, Lambert couldn't help but smile warmly, softly kissing Ariana's forehead before responding, "Don't worry, even if your temper gets big enough to want to chop me down, I won't fight back."
