It had been a long time since their last meeting.
So when they saw Lambert and Ariana returned together, Mr. and Mrs. White were quite happy.
Georgia looked at Ariana's now noticeable belly, and couldn't help but advise, "It's almost six months now. Remember to take good care of yourself. You need more care, especially now. Even a slight accident is not allowed. Don't worry too much or go out and about. Understand?"
Ariana listened to Georgia's incessant talks, her long lashes shading the emotions in her eyes.
It was always like this.
Without Jane around, Georgia finally seemed to act like a mother.
Quite ironic indeed.
However, after reincarnation, Ariana changed her attitude towards her mother and ignored all the associated emotions. But every time she thought about it, it still hurt. Sometimes she couldn't help but question her mother if she really was her biological daughter.
But now she has let it go.
Regardless, she was no longer a child who needed a mother. In this life, she would help Georgia in any situation, but she wouldn't have any deep mother-daughter emotions with her.
Just consider it, she was grateful to Georgia for giving birth and raising her.
But all other feelings were now absent.
Thinking about this, Ariana lowered her gaze and responded softly, "Alright, I understand."
At this moment, Kiara entered carrying a bunch of gifts. She laughed, "Auntie, look, sister and brother-in-law brought lots of stuff."
Seeing Kiara, a gentle smile instantly widened on Georgia's face. She walked over, slightly dissatisfied looking at Kiara's cold red face, and said, "Let the servants do these things. It's very cold outside, don’t freeze."
Kiara chuckled and waved her hands, saying, "I'm not that delicate! I used to swim in the winter." Finishing her words, she moved towards Ariana, her eyes sparkling. After glancing at Ariana's stomach, she cautiously asked, "Sister Ariana, when will the baby be born?"
Ariana laughed lightly. "In about three or four months, I guess."
Kiara's eyes widened immediately, full of curiosity and surprise. "So soon?" She then lowered her head, seemingly calculating something with her fingers. Suddenly, she looked up, smiled, and said, "OK, then I will wait for my niece or nephew to be born. After the child is born, Sister Ariana, may I help you to take care of the baby often?" One of her classmates had a niece and a nephew, and she was quite close to them.
Her classmate proudly claimed that the close relationship was due to her frequently spending time with them.
Kiara had the same desire.
She really liked Sister Ariana and was looking forward to her baby.
Upon hearing this, Ariana was about to respond, but Lambert raised his eyebrows and said, "That's ok.”
Just the other day, he was researching whether life as a couple would be affected after having a child, and most said it would until the child is about three or four years old and starts sleeping in their own bed. Then things should be fine. But could Lambert wait that long?
Now that someone had actively taken on the hard task, he was more than willing to give his child to her!
Ariana: "......"
Kiara believed her sister and brother-in-law really agreed with her, so she beamed happily.
This only fueled Lambert's displeasure further.
Kiara continued to babble on while serving food to Ariana, paying no heed to herself. Her face brimmed with a foolishly expectant gaze as if Ariana eating the food she served would miraculously make her much-anticipated little nephew grow.
Ariana: "......"
Lambert could at least find some acceptance in his heart when he realized Kiara focused only on Ariana's belly instead of Ariana. He thought to himself that once the son was born, he would directly leave him to Kiara.
It's a good thing that the child in Ariana's belly isn't aware of his father's reluctance, or else he would undoubtedly weep in grief at having such a father.
Kiara's behavior subtly eased the atmosphere, helping everyone relax more and more.
Just as everyone was engrossed in their own conversations, the doorbell of the villa suddenly rang. The butler quickly went to answer but was taken aback the moment he saw the visitor. He stood there dumbfounded, saying, "Miss Jane?"
Indeed, the person standing outside was Jane.
With a smile, Jane walked in and immediately spotted Mr. and Mrs. White in the dining room. She said sweetly with sparkling eyes, "Uncle and Auntie, I'm back!"
Both Georgia and Gilbert heard Jane's voice and paused simultaneously.
Kiara, on the other hand, went pale instantly.
She hadn't forgotten the unpleasant memories that Jane had brought her. Ariana sensed Kiara's emotion and smiled as she patted her hand. Kiara slightly raised her eyes to find warmth in Ariana's gaze and felt a little less scared.
She took a deep breath and then looked towards Jane who was slowly walking towards them.
