Ariana looked at Kiara's expression, feeling somewhat helpless.

In her heart, she thought this girl probably hadn't picked up on Jane's underlying malice in her words.

Indeed.

Ariana thought that Jane might be planning something sinister. Not might, definitely. Knowing Jane's character, she could guess that she was plotting something.

When Lambert heard Jane’s words, he didn't even contemplate before deciding to refuse.

Jane immediately revealed a cheerful smile. She looked at Ariana and Kiara with a twinkle in her eyes, almost as if she was calculating something. She said, "Great, then the three of us sisters will have a good chat today. I've been away for so long, while I was abroad, I was thinking of you guys every day.” Then, she turned her gaze towards Gilbert and Georgia, giving a bitter smile, her voice choking, "Uncle, Auntie... during these months abroad I have really come to realize how blessed it is to have a family. I was immature in the past, always acting willfully.”

Georgia looked at Jane, her eyes swelling with tears, and her heart softened even more.

She softly said, "It's good that you realize your mistakes. You were indeed too willful in the past. Nothing like Ariana, or Kiara. Your uncle and I spoiled you too much. Now you know what you did wrong, it's good. In this world, the bond between siblings is the strongest. It's good you understand this."

Jane nodded, her eyes red, "I know."

Kiara was somewhat dumbfounded watching from the side. She hadn't spent much time with Jane, so she thought Jane was being genuinely emotional.

During the past few months abroad, she had been living in a place where she didn't have any relatives, which has shaped her character.

In a shuddering moment, Kiara was filled with a rush of guilt and self-blame. After all, Jane’s move from their homeland and settle abroad was initially due to her. Even though Jane did overstep her boundaries back then, seeing her condition now, Kiara can't help but feel she might have been too harsh on her then.

Ariana did not say anything; she just quietly observed.

As for Lambert, his cold smirk and sarcasm had gone unnoticed countless times.

If Ariana were not holding his hand, he would have impatiently left long ago.

His time was valuable; he was not interested in watching an over-dramatic performance. However, considering this drama queen happened to be his wife's younger sister, he might indeed put on a bitter face and stay a bit longer. Only, if she doesn’t resort to any shenanigans. If not, Lambert wasn’t even sure he could hold himself back.

What a pity.

Jane seemed bound to disappoint Lambert's 'expectations'.

After dinner around eight o'clock, Jane cheekily winked at Lambert, asking if she could have a sisterly chat with Ariana. Lambert fell silent. Despite knowing Ariana would protect herself, and wanted to stay, he was still worried.

She blinked towards Lambert as if to comfort him, assuring him she would be fine and would take good care of herself. Only then did Lambert reluctantly nod.

Kiara looked at this person and then at that. Since she was almost at university age, she naturally understood everything. Hence, she could tell her brother-in-law was worried about Ariana's safety. She felt that he might be overly concerned. However, it was understandable, as it was Ariana's first pregnancy. Plus, her elder sister did have a questionable track record.

Seeing all of this made Kiara slightly scared.

And so, after a moment of thought, she decided to keep an eye out, trying to prevent any squabbles between Jane and Ariana.

Lambert seemed to have a soft spot for Kiara.

Once he saw Kiara follow them, he slowly withdrew his gaze.

Gilbert didn't say anything, he just sighed softly and turned to Lambert, "Lambert, I've been intending to chat with you, but opportunities were scarce. Now that we finally have a chance, why don't we talk in my study?"

Lambert looked in surprise at his father-in-law who hadn't spoken much all day before he slightly nodded.

Georgia glanced at the two men and couldn't help but laugh, saying, "You two are good, both off to your conversations leaving me behind." After saying this, she waved her hand and added, "Fine, I was just about to make some soup for Ariana to nourish her body. You'll carry on." Even though she was glad about the significant changes Jane had made, she did not forget her eldest daughter was pregnant.

Gilbert nodded his acknowledgment, then motioned for Lambert to follow him.

Lambert sensed that Gilbert didn't just want a chat. He likely had something to discuss with him. Realizing this, Lambert's eyebrows furrowed.
