Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 357

Ariana nodded and then, Lambert brought over the child.

The moment she saw the baby, Ariana's heart melted almost instantly. Although the baby's skin was still slightly wrinkled, it was much better than when it was just born. Ariana gazed at the sweet sleeping appearance of the child, the tenderness in her eyes seemed to overflow.

Lambert remarked from the side, "It's a pity it's a boy."

Ariana: "........"

Ariana expressed that she no longer wanted to deal with Lambert.

Men of Lambert’s heritage usually wish for sons. This is quite normal considering they genuinely have a "throne" to be inherited. It is rather rare that they would hope for a daughter like Lambert did. Ariana smiled, looking at her son once again, her eyes full of maternal love and helplessness.

She couldn’t help but feel sorry for her precious son and silently lamented that his father preferred daughters over sons.

Subsequently, Ariana stayed in the hospital for three days and then returned home.

Ariana and Lambert's son received a lot of attention from his great-grandparents. Old Mrs. Stone barely returned to the old house and spent each day laughing and watching their adorable great-grandson. Old Mr. Stone also came by from time to time.

The child was also very adorable. After a few days, the chalky-looking face faded away, revealing the best features inherited from Lambert and Ariana.

With shiny big eyes and adorable soft lips.

The baby was not fearful of meeting people. He would always open his eyes, curiously observing the surroundings or the people passing by. As long as you gave him a toy, he would happily be engrossed in playing with it for a long time. He would seldom cry, making him easy to take care of. On top of that, his looks were also very attractive, appearing like a cherubic child. Thus he quickly won the affection of the entire Stone family.

The “entire” referred to both old Mr. Stone and old Mrs. Stone, as well as the servants and housekeepers.

As for the eldest and second branches of the family.

No matter how adorable this child was, it was doubtful that they could develop any affection towards him.

That day, Jolene was playing with her grandson as usual, while Hugh watched over them with a gentle smile. After all, this was his grandson; naturally, he was captivated by him.

Ariana and Lambert were seated on the other side of the couch.

After a while, Old Mr. Stone descended from his upstairs study.

Hugh greeted his father with a call. The old man nodded in response. His attention was first drawn to his great-grandson, who was delightfully engaged in his play. He then turned to Lambert and Hugh to announce, “I've decided on the name for the child. We shall call him Lucian Stone.” Lucian comes from lux, meaning "light" in Latin, signifying that the child was not only the future of the Stone family but also its brightest shining sun.

The love and expectation the old man held for the child were evident from the chosen name alone.

However, Lambert was visibly displeased.

Obviously, he didn't take the idea of having someone else name his son too kindly.

Ariana thought the name was quite good. Furthermore, out of respect for the old man's age, it wasn't appropriate for Lambert to always contradict him. So she softly cleared her throat and gently pulled at Lambert's sleeve, signaling him not to speak. Knowing Lambert's outspoken nature, she knew that any comment from him would irk the old man to no end.

Jolene was worried that the old man would tire from holding the child for too long, so she hesitated and said, "Dad, the kid is a bit heavy. You might get tired from holding him for so long. Let me hold him." Jolene thought her words were considerate, and she thought the old man would agree. But the old man just glanced at Jolene indifferently, his eyes full of apathy and cold chill.

He said, "No need, I will hold him."

Jolene & Hugh: "..."

Hugh was stunned. He knew how tough and cold his father was. Even when Arnold was born, he only took a symbolic look at the child and made a few compliments. Not to mention Finely and Lambert. He assumed that his great-grandson would receive the same treatment. After all, his father wasn’t particularly fond of children.

But to his surprise...

His father seemed to really like his little great-grandson.

Lambert and Ariana on the side weren't paying much attention and didn't catch the old man’s cold, warning glance to Jolene to remove her hands. At this moment, Ariana was dozing off, leaning on Lambert's shoulder. Lambert felt a bit bad for her, and after a moment of silence, he said, "Ariana is tired, I'll take her back to rest."

Hugh and Jolene naturally had no objections.

It was natural for her to be tired after just giving birth and during the postpartum recovery period. Even the old man nodded slightly, then turned his attention back to his adorable great-grandson.

Lambert paused and said, "Give me the child." Even though he found taking care of a baby draining. Even though he didn’t know his son had become a model of a good baby, Lambert still found him annoying. But annoyance aside, he had responsibilities as a father. He planned to take the baby upstairs for a nap.

But the old man, hearing this, hesitated for a moment, then just glanced at Lambert and walked away, still holding the baby, pretending he hadn't heard Lambert’s words.
