Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 377

This time, Gilbert was truly disappointed in Jane. Even Georgia didn’t want to say anything more. If not for the evidence and the information her husband had uncovered, she would never have imagined that Jane, whom she had loved and treated like her own daughter for years, could have done such things behind her back. The more she cherished her, the deeper her disappointment and anger now. Her heart was filled with guilt and complexity, especially when she thought about the recent incident between Jane and Ariana.

She truly regretted it.

Georgia had never expected Jane to be such a person in secret. Her malice was profound, showing no regard for the bond of sisterhood or respect for her Uncle. And she, Georgia, had neglected her own biological daughter for the sake of someone like this.

Every time she thought about it today, she couldn’t help but feel overwhelming remorse, especially since Ariana hadn’t returned home for over half a year. An increasing sense of panic gripped her heart. Was she about to lose both of her daughters?

Gilbert looked at Jane, who was now sobbing uncontrollably. His expression had shifted from anger and disappointment to outright disgust. He spoke coldly, “In the past, if I had seen you still in contact with Vincent, I would have been furious without a second thought. Do you know why? Because I treated you as my own daughter! Vincent is not a man of good character—he’s not someone you should entrust your life to! And there’s something I’ve never brought up before, but do you really not know that he was once Ariana’s fiancé? I always believed you were innocent, that you were naive and kind, perhaps deceived by him. But now, I realize I was wrong.”

Terribly wrong…

He should have seen it coming long ago. But back then, he hadn’t wanted to think about it.

He assumed Jane was still the same innocent, helpless, and kind-hearted girl from her childhood. But he was mistaken.

Vincent had been with Jane behind Ariana’s back. Even if Jane had been naive and deceived, didn’t she know he was her sister’s fiancé? What had been her intentions in being with him? He hadn’t delved into it before, but now, thinking about it, a chilling sensation washed over him from head to toe.

Back then, he had only focused on comforting Jane, making excuses for her.

Now, it was clear he had been wrong. Remembering how Ariana had broken down in tears and confided in him, waves of regret crashed over him.

Jane stood frozen, her mind a blank slate. She stared at Gilbert, her face a mask of sheer terror. It was clear that he had uncovered everything she had done. Her lips moved, but no words came out. She was at a complete loss, unsure of what to say.

Gilbert gazed coldly at his niece, who now seemed like a stranger to him. "You've stolen so much confidential information from the company and handed it over to our competitors, to the Thomas family," he continued, his voice icy. "Whatever your motives were, you've deeply disappointed me. I regret—I regret ever adopting you. You've hurt not only me but also your Aunt, who has loved you like her own daughter for all these years."

He paused, then added, "I will hand over all the evidence to the police. If you want to avoid severe punishment, you'd better come clean about who put you up to this. I'll do everything in my power to ensure you receive the lightest sentence possible."

Jane's eyes widened in shock. "You're going to send me to prison?" she exclaimed, her voice shrill with disbelief.

But at that time, there was no other choice. Jane and Kiara's father had to act as he did. Gilbert understood this and didn't blame his brother for the impact his actions had on his own authority. Instead, he did everything in his power to help rescue Jane and Kiara. Yet, in the end, tragedy struck.

His brother and sister-in-law died, Kiara disappeared without a trace, and only Jane remained. Gilbert and Georgia were heartbroken and grief-stricken, which is why they took in the poor Jane at the time.

As for inheritance, there wasn't a single penny left. All of Jane and Kiara's father's assets had been handed over to the kidnappers in the desperate attempt to save them.

Jane listened to Georgia's words in stunned silence, then her eyes widened in fury as she retorted, "That's impossible! Absolutely impossible! My parents must have left a fortune, and you've stolen it all!"

Georgia looked at Jane with a cold, pained expression. "If you don't believe me, you can ask those who were around back then. The shareholders of White Corporation and the senior employees all know about this. I have no reason to lie to you." In the aftermath of the kidnapping, not only was there no inheritance left from Jane and Kiara's parents, but Gilbert had also lost a significant amount of his own wealth.

They had simply never told Jane and her sister about it.

Jane was utterly shocked by this revelation. For a moment, she stood frozen in place, unable to process what she had just heard.
