Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 383

Ariana's newly established company was merged with Lamari Group, so she decided to keep the original name, Lamari Group, without bothering to come up with a new one.

As for the White family, after Gilbert sent Jane to prison, he devoted all his energy to managing the family business. During this time, he never once reached out to Ariana, not even for help. It seemed he had finally realized how he had wronged his daughter in the past. Overwhelmed by guilt and shame, he found it difficult to reconnect with her, so he chose to keep his distance for the time being.

As for Kiara, her worst fears came true. Although Gilbert and his wife didn't blame her for what happened, their attitude toward her had clearly changed. It wasn't outright neglect, but things had become... complicated. In the past, whenever Kiara stood before them, they showered her with affection, just as they did with Jane. But now, every time they saw Kiara, they were reminded of Jane. Even though they knew Kiara was different, their feelings couldn't help but become tangled.

This subtle shift in their demeanor didn't escape Kiara's notice. Gradually, her smiles became less frequent, and the casual after-dinner chats with Gilbert and his wife dwindled. Though the three of them still lived under the same roof, the warmth of a family seemed to have faded.

Among them, Georgia suffered the most. She had lost the "younger daughter" she had doted on for so long, as well as her own biological daughter. Reflecting on how she had neglected her real daughter over the years while pouring all her love into a niece who saw them as enemies, she was consumed by regret and remorse. Unlike Gilbert, Georgia did reach out to Ariana after the incident with Jane.

Each time, she approached with caution, her tone tentative and careful. On the other hand, Ariana responded with a calm detachment—neither cold nor warm, but certainly not close.

Georgia's demeanor was as polite and distant as if she were addressing a stranger. This indifference deeply saddened her.

Gilbert, witnessing the scene, felt equally at a loss. He was acutely aware of how much they had neglected Ariana over the years.

Today, Kiara returned home from school as usual. Georgia was seated in the living room. Upon seeing Kiara, she smiled lightly and said, "Kiara, you're back."

Kiara responded with a slight smile, "Yes, Auntie."

Just like every other day since the incident with Jane, Georgia continued to treat Kiara with kindness. However, the warm conversations and gentle inquiries about her school life had dwindled to almost nothing. Their interactions were now limited to mere formalities.

Suppressing the dull ache in her heart, Kiara intended to head straight upstairs.

At that moment, Georgia called out to her, "Kiara."

Kiara paused, then slowly turned her head, her eyes questioning.

Georgia hesitated, struggling with her words before finally saying, "Kiara, could you do me a favor?"

Kiara was surprised. She hadn't expected her aunt to ask for her help. After all, what could she possibly assist with? Nevertheless, she nodded and replied, "Of course, if it's within my means." Kiara was not one to forget kindness. She knew her uncle and aunt had been good to her, even if their feelings had become complicated due to Jane. She understood that this was only natural.

Even she couldn't guarantee that she would remain unchanged after all that had happened.

Georgia seemed unable to hold back the emotions she had been suppressing for so long. She needed someone to confide in, to vent the regret and pain that had been weighing on her heart.

So she told Kiara about the incident involving the shares that Gilbert and Lambert had mentioned. "When we first brought your sister back, because your mother and I were very close, and Gilbert and your father were close too, and considering the circumstances of your disappearance at the time, we were very careful in how we treated your sister. We didn’t want her to carry any scars. Back then, Ariana was still very young. As she grew older, she might have felt that your uncle and I favored your sister, and she started to resent it.

But at the time, I thought that since your parents had passed away, your sister was all alone and pitiful, so I scolded Ariana. After that, her temper started to worsen. I became more and more disappointed in her, and so did your uncle. We stopped paying much attention to her. It wasn’t until she went to college that Ariana finally seemed to grow up and stopped causing trouble with your sister.

I was relieved then. I thought she had finally matured... but I never realized she had been bottling all of it up inside."

Georgia then went on to explain what had happened afterward, how Ariana had finally exploded over the issue of dividing the shares into three parts, leading to their complete estrangement.

And since then, Ariana never returned home.

Up until now.

Georgia's voice got heavy with sorrow as she spoke, especially when she recalled an incident from Ariana’s childhood. There had been a school event where parents and children were supposed to perform together. But at the time, Jane, who had no parents, needed someone too. Out of pity for Jane, Georgia had chosen to act as her mother and performed with her instead.
