Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 446

Ariana was momentarily stunned, but Stefan reacted instantly. He stepped forward urgently, his voice laced with desperation, "Alli, I swear, nothing happened between us. Please believe me."

Allison let out a cold laugh, her eyes flashing with disbelief. "Nothing happened? Then why did she come all the way here to demand I step aside? She told me you slept together."

Ariana: "..."

Even Lambert's eyes narrowed slightly at that. Exchanging a glance with Ariana, a silent understanding passed between them.

Meanwhile, Stefan was frantically defending himself. "No! Absolutely not! Lexi did approach me before, but I never crossed that line. If you're talking about that photo, I can explain. At that party, I had no idea she'd be there. I drank a bit too much—I think she might have slipped something into my drink. But I'm certain nothing happened between us."

A storm brewed in the depths of his eyes as he recalled the incident.

He never imagined Lexi, a woman from a respectable family, could stoop so low.

With her background, she could easily find someone of equal or higher status. Yet, to his shock, she had schemed against even him—all to drive a wedge between him and Allison, to force a divorce.

But that was never going to happen.

Even if he were to divorce Allison, which he never would, he would never marry Lexi.

He had made that crystal clear to her months ago. He thought her silence meant she had given up. But no—she had been biding her time, setting this trap. If not for his instincts warning him that something was off, he might have truly fallen into her bed.

And once that happened, the aftermath would have been impossible to untangle.

After all, even though the mayor had completely fallen from power, failing to secure reelection while the deputy mayor took his place, his lingering influence remained. If they truly wanted to deal with him, it wouldn’t be easy.

Now, Ariana finally understood.

Without letting Allison speak further, she stood coldly before Stefan and demanded, "Was it Lexi?"

Stefan fell silent, then nodded. A shadow of ruthlessness flickered in his eyes as he confirmed, "It was her." Though he himself was innocent in this matter, he couldn’t deny his indirect role in the current situation. This time, he resolved not to hold back.

At the confirmation of Lexi’s involvement, Ariana’s expression darkened instantly.

Lambert took her hand.

She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to him.

In a low voice, he said, "Let me handle it."

Ariana: "?"

Lambert gave a faint smile. "I know what you’re thinking. Leave it to me." This was a society governed by law—he couldn’t do anything extreme to Lexi, but teaching her a small lesson was still within reason.

After all, she had repeatedly torn families apart and nearly cost Allison her life, along with her unborn child. She deserved some retribution.

Then again, perhaps he wouldn’t even need to intervene.

Stefan would likely take care of it himself.

Lexi might have powerful connections, but Allison was no pushover.

This time, Lexi had gone too far.

Allison wasn’t about to let it slide. She knew that if she backed down now, it would only embolden Lexi further—and invite mockery for her weakness.

No matter what, she was definitely going to settle this score.

Ariana didn’t want Allison to dwell on her distress any longer, so she deliberately changed the subject. “Allison,” she said, “Beverly is coming back.”

As expected, Allison’s attention snapped to the news. She blinked in surprise. “What?”

Ariana repeated herself.

Allison’s expression instantly darkened. She shot Ariana a worried look. “Then what are we going to do? Beverly must be up to no good if she’s returning now. The Stone family’s main branch has already fallen so far, yet she still managed to claw her way back. I’m afraid she’ll set her sights on Lambert again. Ariana, you have to be careful.”

Allison was genuinely concerned about Beverly—Ariana’s longtime rival. After all, Ariana had suffered at her hands before.

If Beverly was bold enough to orchestrate a kidnapping, what wouldn’t she do? For a moment, Allison felt like the two of them were cursed. What were the odds of both of them running into such a vile love rival? Talk about terrible luck!

Once she recovered, she was definitely going to get their fortunes told—maybe they’d somehow offended some god of misfortune!

Seeing that Allison was finally distracted from her sorrow, Ariana breathed a quiet sigh of relief. She nodded reassuringly. “Don’t worry. I’ll be on my guard.”
