"Where to?" Ariana asked.
Vincent thought momentarily and suggested, "There's a newly released movie I heard from my secretary that might be good. How about we go check it out?"
In reality, Jane kept wanting him to accompany her to see it. But, because of the recent special circumstances, their private dates could easily be discovered if they were too frequent, so he had already turned her down several times.
She asked, "What's it called?"
Vincent said, "It's called Love. It seems like it's an American art film."
"Love?"
When Ariana heard it, it sounded strangely familiar. She pondered for a moment and suddenly remembered that Jane had once bought movie tickets, and said happily that she would go to watch it with a friend, but then she didn't go and was quite upset.
At that time, she had caught a glimpse from afar, and it seemed that the name on the ticket was Love.
Ariana suddenly found it somewhat amusing. Jane has been constantly asking Vincent to accompany her to see it, but in the end, Vincent is going with her instead.
If Jane found out, wouldn't she be furious?
Ariana didn't respond immediately, making Vincent somewhat uneasy. "What's wrong? You don't think it's a good idea?"
"Why would that be?"
She slightly shook her head with a smirk, "I'm just a bit curious about what it's about."
Vincent sighed in relief, "I don't quite know either, but I heard it's very heart-touching."
"Okay," Ariana responded with a gentle smile.
After dinner, upon entering the cinema, Ariana finally understood what the film called "Love" was all about. In essence, it was just an erotic movie with the theme of platonic love.
The male and female protagonists were brother-in-law and sister respectively. The main lead and his wife were deeply in love and immersed in sensual pleasures.
As time passed, their passion gradually faded, constant disputes ensued, and they had young children's matters to worry about, yet, the lead actor continued his deep love for his wife.
However, his wife was growing tired of the boring housewife life, day after day, and began to be attracted to another man.
The male protagonist was devastated when he learned that his wife had cheated on him. At this time, the female lead, who was living with them because of her divorce, was considerate and helped him out of many troubles, persuading him to face the ups and downs of life bravely.
Perhaps because their respective marriages were unsuccessful and they sympathized with each other's plight, their emotions gradually spiraled out of control. They loved each other, but couldn't be together because of their identities.
While they never consummated anything substantial, their emotional solace was enough for both of them to persevere in life.
However, soon, the male protagonist's wife came back because of emotional frustration and the worry of young children.
And the female protagonist's husband began to regret their divorce.
For their child's sake, the two of them parted ways and returned to their own families to continue their lives. This love that was never revealed seemed to be forever buried in their hearts.
The movie tells a story of Platonic love, but it also contains a considerable amount of erotic scenes, seemingly satirical of modern people who often abandon their families for lust.
However, by the end of the movie, Ariana saw that there were already many couples in the audience who were affected by the ambiguous atmosphere of the movie and could not help but start kissing passionately.
The movie was indeed touching. However, the more Ariana watched, the colder her heart became.
The relationship between the male and female leads was indeed touching, but the intent of Jane was rather nauseating.
Is Jane trying to hint to Vincent that their relationship can be considered platonic love?
Sitting next to her, Vincent's eyes were slightly red, his gaze fixed on the ambiguous scenes replaying at the end of the movie as if the ambiguous elements of the film stirred up his desires.
Upon noticing Ariana’s gaze, Vincent came to his senses and slightly turned to look at her.
He was taken aback when he saw her expression was devoid of any noticeable emotions.
