Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 562

The voice sounded all too familiar. Ariana and Fanny turned to look, and sure enough, it was someone they knew.

Fanny frowned. "Flora?"

Flora had been their classmate—the one who constantly picked on Ariana. She was the type who played the innocent victim, always putting on a pitiful act as if the world had wronged her. Back when Ariana was still in school, Flora had spread vicious rumors, claiming that Ariana mistreated her younger sister, Jane.

It wasn’t until Ariana systematically dismantled Jane’s schemes that those rumors finally died down.

Honestly, Ariana hadn’t expected to run into Flora here.

Flora’s family wasn’t particularly well-off—just the daughter of some nouveau riche. Otherwise, she never would’ve been able to attend their elite school in the first place. And given her financial background, this exclusive venue should’ve been out of her reach.

Fanny seemed to be thinking the same thing. She eyed Flora skeptically, wondering how she’d even gotten in.

At the moment, Flora was dressed in a blue-and-white evening gown, her makeup meticulously applied. While the dress itself wasn’t inappropriate, her overall look was a bit too extravagant for the occasion—this wasn’t some grand gala, after all. A simple cocktail dress would’ve sufficed.

Fanny gave her a sidelong glance. "What are you doing here?" Her tone held nothing but genuine confusion, free of any hidden meaning.

She was simply baffled by Flora’s presence.

But Flora took it as mockery—as if Fanny were implying she didn’t belong. The polite smile on her face instantly twisted into something bitter. Clenching her teeth, she shot back coldly, "Oh, I could never measure up to you and Ariana, marrying into such wealthy families. But don’t worry, I’ll be joining the club soon. I hope you’ll both attend my wedding—after all, we’re old classmates." Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she feigned regret and covered her mouth with a dramatic gasp. "Oh dear, I forgot! Fanny, you’re about to divorce Mr. Castro, aren’t you? Naturally, you won’t have time to come to my wedding."

Flora only caught the tail end of the conversation.

By the time she arrived, the only words that reached her ears were "divorce." Instantly, her mind painted a picture—Fanny must be pouring her heart out to Ariana about her impending split from Damon. A smug, mocking edge crept into Flora's voice, as if she could already envision Fanny being cast aside by Damon in disgrace.

Had Fanny actually been in such a situation, Flora's words and expression would have been nothing short of twisting the knife.

But Fanny wasn’t.

So she was just… baffled.

To be fair, Flora wasn’t entirely to blame. Fanny rarely appeared in public with Damon, fueling rumors that the Fernandes and Castro families' alliance was on the rocks. Business marriages were common, but rarely did couples so blatantly refuse to even put on a show of unity. Clearly, the relationship was in shambles.

No wonder Flora assumed Fanny was getting divorced.

Fanny’s lips twitched. "Who said Damon and I are divorcing…?"

Flora scoffed, her eyes dripping with disdain. "Why bother hiding it? I just overheard your little chat. Poor Fanny. You barely managed to latch onto the Castro family, and now you’re getting dumped after just two months. Pathetic, really."

Fanny: "…"

Not that Flora truly understood what that meant.

The Harper family’s decline was common knowledge among the old-money elite, but outsiders like Flora remained oblivious. In her mind, the Harper family was no different from the Stone family, and her status was no less than Ariana’s.

'How dare Ariana talk down to her? Especially here, on Harper family turf.'

With a cold sneer, Flora hardened her expression. "It’s been years, Ariana, but you’re still as sharp-tongued and overbearing as ever. No wonder you managed to frame your own sister and seize the White family’s inheritance. And let’s not forget how you helped Lambert eliminate all his rivals to become the future head of the Stone family. Truly, I could never match such *skill*."

Then, as if struck by a sudden thought, she added mockingly, "Oh, but how could I forget? I wouldn’t *dare* compare myself to you. Not when even a child—barely older than your own son—wasn’t spared. What more could I possibly say, hmm?"

Flora finished speaking, a malicious smirk playing on her lips.

Ariana frowned slightly but remained silent. However, Fanny couldn't hold back any longer. With a furrowed brow, she snapped, "Ariana would never do such a thing! Flora, why do you still love spreading lies and slandering people like you always have?"

Flora sneered. "Me, slander? The entire high-society circle knows all about it. Who hasn't heard how ruthless the future matriarch of the Stone family is?"

"You—" Fanny clenched her teeth, ready to fire back in anger the next second.

But Ariana held her back.
