Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 579

Lambert had already explained to Ariana that he hadn't told their three little ones about her prolonged coma, fearing it would worry them.

Of course, Ariana understood the real reason behind his silence—he probably just didn’t want the boys causing a fuss.

But that was fine by her.

If the kids had known she’d been unconscious for days, they would’ve been terrified.

Yet Ariana never expected to see her son here.

Lambert had assured her they’d return home only after her injuries had mostly healed.

So it never crossed her mind that their son would find out—let alone show up at the hospital.

And when she saw who had brought him, her eyes narrowed instantly.

A knowing glint flashed in her gaze, freezing Madelyn’s carefully crafted smile for a split second.

But the woman quickly recovered and continued forward.

Little Lucian had been fretting about his mother’s condition the entire car ride. The moment he saw Ariana safe and sound, he exhaled in relief before darting over and throwing his arms around her. His small body trembled as he choked back a sob. "Mom..."

Feeling the anxious shivers coursing through her son’s tiny frame, Ariana’s heart ached with sorrow.

She answered softly, stroking his hair. "I'm okay, sweetheart."

Lucian remained buried in Ariana's embrace. Though he prided himself on being a tough boy who never cried, he simply couldn't hold back anymore. Truth be told, Lucian was perceptive—during the period when Ariana had been absent from the Stone Family household, he had appeared composed on the surface, but deep down, he was terrified every single day.

There were even nights when he secretly wept.

He was a sensitive child.

The tense atmosphere in the Stone Family residence hadn’t escaped his notice, and it filled him with dread. He was afraid—afraid something terrible had happened to his mother. But now, thank goodness, none of his worst fears had come true.

His mother was safe and sound.

Ariana looked down at her usually mature and steady eldest son, now sniffling and clinging to her like a little boy, and her heart melted even more. Softly, she whispered, "Mom won’t leave you again."

Only then did Lucian slowly lift his head.

His eyes were red as he studied her face, then gave a small, hesitant nod. "Promise?" he murmured in a tiny voice.

Ariana smiled. "I promise."

To seal the vow, she even hooked her pinky finger with his, just like they used to when he was younger. At that, Lucian finally broke into a smile, his eyes sparkling with pure joy.

But he hadn’t forgotten the aunt and his uncle’s wife who had brought him here.

Quickly, he turned to introduce them. "Mom, this auntie and Uncle’s wife were the ones who brought me. The auntie has been picking me up from school and taking me home a lot lately." Since Irene had introduced herself as a friend of both Lambert and Ariana, Lucian assumed she was a mutual friend of his parents.

He wanted to acknowledge the kindness this woman had shown him—it was only polite, after all.

This was a formidable opponent.

Irene couldn't help but think as she watched the hospital door click shut behind her. Ariana turned her head slowly, her expression cool and detached. "Well?" she said, her voice even. "What is it, Miss Harper?"

Irene met Ariana's composed gaze, hesitated for a brief moment, then deliberately pulled up a chair and sat down, locking eyes with her. "First of all, Miss White, congratulations on waking up safely. Lambert and Lucian have been very worried about you."

Ariana arched an eyebrow, the mockery in her eyes deepening.

Unfazed, Irene pressed on. "I know you probably have a lot of misunderstandings about me. And honestly, given the circumstances, I doubt we’ll ever see eye to eye."

As she spoke, a faint look of regret crossed Irene’s face—as if to say that if not for their shared affection for the same man, they might have been good friends.

Ariana remained silent, watching her with an unreadable expression, waiting to see what performance would come next.

The indifference in her demeanor unsettled Irene. A flicker of irritation crossed her features, but she quickly smoothed it away. "Lambert is a man of strong principles," she continued. "He married you, and you have three children together. Whatever history he and I shared… well, that’s all in the past now. I’m sorry—I’m not blaming you for anything. It’s just that sometimes, emotions get the better of me."

Ariana said nothing.

Irene’s carefully maintained composure was starting to crack. She clenched her jaw briefly before pressing forward. "I know you’re worried about your son. Miss White, I hope you can understand—both Lambert and me. Please, let him go. If you’re concerned about the children, don’t be. Lucian is a sweet boy, and I’ve grown very fond of him. Lambert entrusted him to me these past few days, and I’ve taken excellent care of him. Of course, if you’re uneasy, you can visit him whenever you like—or even take full custody.

If you trust me enough, I’d be happy to look after all three of your children. I’d even…" She swallowed hard. "I’d even be willing to forgo having children of my own with Lambert. I swear to you, Lucian will remain his heir. I’m begging you—just let Lambert go.

He’s too responsible to ask for a divorce himself, no matter how miserable he is. But can you really bear to see him suffer like this? So please, Miss White—name your price. If you agree to divorce him, I’ll pay any price you ask."
