She paced restlessly in the living room. Ariana felt dizzy just by watching her.

"Mom... if there's something you want to ask, it would be better to ask me directly."

Georgia paused, took a breath, and asked: "What's going on between you and the son of the Stone Family?"

Georgia knew perfectly well who Lambert was. Her clear understanding was the cause of her great worry.

Ariana had not expected such a huge reaction from her mother after knowing that she was kissed by Lambert. If her mother knew that she secretly married Lambert, Ariana could not imagine how furious she would be.

She resignedly said, "Mr. Stone is a specially appointed professor at our school."

"What? He's a professor? But how could he treat you like that?" Georgia felt like she was going crazy.

Ariana hurriedly calmed Georgia down. "Mom, please don't be angry!"

"How can I not be angry? Even though the Stone family is much more powerful than our White family, we are not so far off that anyone can bully us. How could he kiss you in front of so many people? Many people at the banquet tonight knew that you've been engaged to Vincent a long time ago. Even though there hasn't been an engagement ceremony yet, it's commonly known!"

Georgia became furious whenever she thought about this.

Seeing her mother getting more and more angry, Ariana grew more anxious about her secret marriage with Lambert.

Georgia saw that her daughter looked depressed and thought that she was upset because Vincent had been suppressed by Lambert, who used the power of the Stone family, making him look very weak.

Recalling Vincent's uncompetitive, indecisive, and ineffective behavior today, Georgia was livid. The image of her future son-in-law letting another man hold his fiancée in his arms without taking any action was a disgrace to everyone who saw it.

Georgia hugged her daughter and comforted her, saying, "I didn't expect Vincent to be so unreliable, lacking even the courage to take you back. Just as you had contemplated earlier, it seems I have to rethink your marriage with Vincent."

Some time ago, Ariana asked her parents what they would think if her wedding to Vincent was canceled. They'd initially regarded Vincent as a good boy and thought perhaps Ariana was just having a quarrel with him and didn't pay much mind. It seems though that, Ariana, too, had her own worries.

With that in mind, Georgia was even more concerned for her daughter.

Ariana was slightly taken aback. She never expected this matter to have influenced her mother's impression of Vincent.

Meanwhile, Jane who was upstairs crept out upon hearing the noise and had been eavesdropping for quite a while. When she heard even Lambert had publicly made Vincent uncomfortable and brazenly snatched his woman, she felt a pang of jealousy.

Biting her lower lip, she couldn't understand why her sister Ariana was so desirable that someone like Lambert Stone pursued her so openly.

Furthermore, Vincent had been ignoring her recently because of Ariana.

Jane contemplated. Vincent had lost face this time. Perhaps, by personally going to console him, he might remember her kindness.

Since returning from the banquet, Vincent couldn’t quell the anger in his heart. After a shower, he wrapped a bath towel around his body and he stood by the window with his face gloomy.

The night outside was very dark, but his mood was even darker.

Lambert proved to be more challenging than he had imagined, and Ariana’s attitude was not clear enough. His worst fear was coming true.

Thinking about how he had witnessed Ariana being kissed by Lambert – something he desired but haven't gotten – his mood became more gloomy.

Ariana had always said that they should save everything for their wedding night. He hadn’t thought much of it, assuming the woman was that pure to extent.
