Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 657

Both of them were weighed down by heavy thoughts, though neither wanted to believe it was possible.

Yet when they recalled Lambert's notorious past before his marriage to Ariana, it suddenly didn't seem so far-fetched... especially now that he had nearly taken full control of the Stone family's empire.

Meanwhile, Lambert—currently suspected of keeping a mistress—was in agony.

It felt like fire was raging inside him.

Through the haze, he sensed someone beside him, his muddled mind mistaking her for Ariana. But just as he pulled her close, barely restraining himself, he realized—this scent was unfamiliar.

It wasn't her.

Before Ariana, he wouldn’t have cared who it was. In this state, the old Lambert would’ve given in without a second thought.

He had always been a man who put himself first.

Never denying himself anything.

But after meeting Ariana, everything changed.

Suddenly, as if doused in clarity, he shoved the stranger away and staggered toward the bathroom—anywhere with cold water.

Irene froze when he pushed her off. Staring blankly at him, she couldn’t believe he’d resist even now. A sharp, indescribable pain pierced her heart, deeper than anything she’d ever felt.

She rushed after him, wrapping her arms around his back, her voice trembling with a jealousy she didn’t recognize. "Lambert, don’t hold back. You can do whatever you want with me."

But he didn’t hear a word.

His mind had gone completely blank, shutting out all external stimuli.

Fortunately, the villa wasn't too large, so finding the bathroom wasn't difficult. Lambert strode in and immediately turned on the cold water tap, cupping handfuls of icy water and splashing it over his face and head. The freezing shock was like plunging into an ice bath amidst scorching flames—his consciousness sharpened instantly.

Shaking his head, he finally regained some clarity.

Irene stood a short distance away, her eyes brimming with sorrow and pain as she watched him.

Lambert fixed her with a cold stare. "You drugged me?"

Her eyes widened dramatically, as if deeply wronged. She shook her head frantically, her voice choked with emotion. "No! I don’t know what’s happening to you, Lambert. I would never do that. Do you really think I’m that kind of woman?"

In truth, Irene had already plotted this with Nathan.

She planned to pin the blame on her brother. If Lambert discovered the truth and lashed out, she would play the innocent victim.

Then, at the right moment, her brother would step forward—claiming he had known about their past relationship and had only wanted to bring them back together.

By then, she too would be seen as a victim. Even if Lambert was furious, he wouldn’t take it out on her. And once they slept together, their fates would be intertwined—difficult to sever. If luck was on her side, she might even get pregnant.

That would be perfect.

Now that the plan was in motion, she couldn’t let it fall apart—not when she was so close.

Irene froze.

Lambert didn't waste any more words this time. Staggering unsteadily, he made his way toward the exit.

Inside the house, Irene seemed to have lost all her strength.

She stood frozen, watching blankly as Lambert stumbled away, not moving an inch. Her fists clenched so tightly her knuckles turned white, and tears she could no longer hold back streamed down her cheeks.

Once outside the villa, the cool evening air brushed against Lambert’s face, momentarily dispersing the lingering warmth.

But it was only temporary.

He pulled out his phone and dialed again—this time, his assistant.

That useless driver of his was utterly unreliable. Better to have his assistant come directly. Assistant Hills acted swiftly; the moment he received his boss’s call, he dropped everything and rushed to the location to pick up Mr. Stone.

And just then… Georgia arrived at the villa.

She froze at the sight of Lambert, his clothes slightly disheveled, his expression unreadable.

A few days ago, her daughter had invited her to go shopping together.

She lived nearby.

Though they had agreed to meet in the afternoon, Georgia couldn’t contain her excitement and arrived early. But she never expected that the moment she arrived, she’d spot Lambert in such a disheveled state, his face unusually flushed and his demeanor anything but composed.
