Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 683

There was no way Fanny wouldn't know about such a major incident involving Ariana.

However, she happened to be abroad at the time, and by the time she rushed back, three days had already passed.

Her eyes red-rimmed, she pushed open the hospital room door and stepped inside. Only when she finally saw Ariana safe and sound did she let out a sigh of relief. Sitting by Ariana's bedside, she gazed at her friend, her tears nearly spilling over. Her eyes bloodshot, she choked out, "Ariana, are you okay...? I'm so sorry. Had I known this would happen, I would've come back to be with you sooner."

Fanny had previously asked about Ariana's due date. Knowing the exact timing, she hadn't been in a hurry to return—after all, there were still about twenty days left. She had planned to come back in a few days to accompany Ariana. Who could've guessed that in those final days, something like this would happen?

Clenching her teeth, she spat bitterly, "I already heard from Damon—someone set that fire on purpose, and it's connected to the Harper family, isn't it?" She should've seen it coming! She had assumed that even if Irene still had feelings for Lambert, since he was already married, there was nothing she could do.

Who knew that bitch would have the audacity—so shameless she'd even resort to arson! "Don't worry, Ariana," Fanny growled, her voice thick with fury. "I swear I'll make sure she rots in prison for the rest of her life!"

Ariana looked at her, watching as she huffed and puffed in anger, and couldn't help but let a small smile tug at the corner of her lips.

Softly, she asked, "Are you tired?"

Fanny blinked in confusion. "Huh?" She seemed momentarily thrown by the question.

Ariana chuckled lightly and repeated, "I'm guessing you flew back overnight. Aren't you exhausted?"

Fanny's eyes instantly welled up again.

With a choked sob, she threw her arms around Ariana and wailed, "Why are you worrying about me when you're in this state?! Save that concern for yourself! Look at you—the moment I'm not around, this happens. Do the Harpers think I'm dead or something? No matter how powerful Irene thinks she is, our little Lucian has me as her godmother! As long as I'm here, no one's laying a finger on you!"

Ariana smiled faintly. "I'm not concerned about you—I just wanted to change the subject."

Fanny: "..."

Fanny choked for a second before snapping, "I know you're trying to change the subject! But could you at least play along?"

Her outburst lightened the mood in the hospital room considerably.

Ariana sighed and nodded obediently. "Yeah, yeah, sure."

But seeing her like this didn’t make Fanny feel better—if anything, it made her even more upset. Though she wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed and often acted without thinking, she was just as perceptive as anyone else. She could tell something was different about Ariana, especially the deep exhaustion lurking in her eyes. It made Fanny’s chest ache just looking at her.

Just then, the door swung open again.

Lambert and Damon walked in.

Damon, dressed in a well-tailored suit, was as composed as ever. He gave Ariana a polite nod in greeting.

Ariana returned a small smile.

Fanny, however, immediately shot to her feet. Glaring at the ice-cold Lambert, she sneered, "Lambert! What the hell are you playing at? The moment I’m gone, you just let other women walk all over Ariana? I haven’t even settled the score with you over Allison's incident, and now Ariana’s in this state again. If I’d known you were this unreliable, I would’ve never let her be with you in the first place!"

The temperature in the room plummeted the second those words left her mouth.

The price is only 1/4 of what others charge
