Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 706

Lucian was an exceptionally disciplined child.

To be precise, children born into families like his were typically groomed with such rigor from an early age. The crude, foul-mouthed rich heirs often depicted in novels were rare in reality—the more prestigious the family, the greater the emphasis on etiquette and upbringing. That always came first.

This was precisely why Old Mr. Stone disapproved of Carson.

His temperament was far too unruly.

After watching cartoons with his younger brothers for a while, Lucian dutifully took out his homework and began working on it without needing any reminders.

Kevin remained seated where he was.

His gaze lingered on the comic book in his hands, but his thoughts had already drifted far away.

The bond between twins was no myth.

Once Lucian left, Carson stealthily winked at his twin brother and whispered, "Hey, you upset or something?"

Facing his younger brother’s inquisitive stare, Kevin kept his expression neutral. "No."

Carson tilted his chin up, smirking. "Don’t lie. You’re definitely in a bad mood." Then, after a furtive glance at their eldest brother diligently doing homework nearby, he lowered his voice even further. "You hate the idea of a little sister, too, don’t you?"

He could sense Kevin’s foul mood and assumed they shared the same sentiment—that things were better off as they were.

A little sister had no place in their world.

Kevin stiffened, then frowned slightly. "If Dad hears you say that, you’re done for."

With a cold snort, Carson retorted, "So what if he heard? No need to be scared." He pursed his lips slightly before adding in a conspiratorial whisper, "Hey, what if we ask Great-Grandma? To take care of little sister, I mean. We stayed with her when we were younger, too. Since our sister's health isn't great now, we could send her to the main house. What do you think?" His eyes sparkled with self-satisfaction at this brilliant idea.

This way, no one would disturb them anymore!

Kevin couldn't be bothered to entertain his dim-witted younger brother. Instead, he glanced at their eldest brother, who sat at the table with lowered lashes, completely absorbed in his homework. The boy's small hands clenched tightly, lost in thought.

...

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Ariana found herself unable to remain composed after Lambert's words.

A flicker of complexity passed through her eyes, and for some reason, her cheeks grew warm.

She said nothing, pretending not to have heard as she reached for more ingredients.

But Lambert wasn't about to let her escape. He caught her hand, preventing her from pulling away. Gazing directly into her evasive eyes, he spoke deliberately, "Ariana, I know... deep down, you don't actually blame me."

Her eyelashes trembled slightly, fingers tightening unconsciously.

Drawing her closer, he slid his left arm around her waist, his voice low and husky with emotion. "But it was still my fault—because of me, Grace was born premature and almost didn't make it. You've never held that against me. I know." He pressed a light kiss to her cheek before continuing, "I was wrong, and I'll change. Forgive me, alright? Even though we have four children now... the truth is, I wasn't ready when Lucian was born. I didn't know how to be a father."

His voice turned tentative, laced with quiet pleading. "All these years... I haven't been good enough. But I promise, from now on, I'll do everything I can to be the father they deserve."

The price is only 1/4 of what others charge
