This was John’s first time entering the live–specimen laboratory. A werewolf doctor quickly came over, took the painkiller from his hand, and walked toward the surrounded bed.
John pressed his lips together and followed a few steps behind.
But when he saw that the werewolf lying on the bed was actually Aubrey, he froze.
At this moment, Aubrey’s pale skin looked as if it had been split open by red and blue blood vessels, terrifying and
gruesome.
The painkiller was slowly pushed in, but Aubrey’s complexion didn’t improve in the slightest.
“Why is she the one doing the experiment here?” John frowned, turned, and forcefully grabbed the arm of Ginnie, the werewolf doctor. “Where is the werewolf who was doing the live- specimen experiments before? Isn’t he more experienced?”
As he spoke, he glanced at Aubrey again. The omega he had just cursed, the one he had always considered worthless to the experiment, was now strapped to the bed, with ghastly purplish- red veins covering her exposed skin…
He suddenly grew anxious and said quickly, “It’s wrong to let an omega with no experience and little medical knowledge conduct a live–specimen experiment! Besides, don’t you all know, the side effects of this serum are extremely strong! She won’t be able to take it, she’ll die!”
“Who told you she has no experience?” Ginnie said.
“What do you mean?”
John froze. He subconsciously glanced at Aubrey again. The omega’s features were contorted, and although her eyes were open, they had clearly lost focus.
He couldn’t help but shout, “Stop! You have to stop the experiment immediately!”
“We can’t stop!”
Ginnie barked coldly. His face held pain and guilt, but even more, determination. “Aubrey is our last and only hope.”
His words made John’s eyes fly wide. He suddenly understood something!

Weren’t omegas the weakest and most incapable?
Before he left Shadowmoon Pack to travel, he had led exploration teams several times. The teams had betas, gammas, and omegas. Normally, everyone got along fine, but when they encountered danger, that group of omegas would just tremble in fear! Some would even turn and flee, and their chaotic actions had even gotten several gamma–level warriors killed.
So, how could this delicate omega Aubrey possibly endure so many painful live–specimen experiments? And still remain conscious and rational enough to improve the serum and develop a cure?!
John didn’t want to believe it, and he was unwilling to believe it, but…
“You didn’t know, did you? The one and only live–specimen test subject… has always been Ms. Mary.”
This sentence from Ginnie left John completely stunned.
The live–specimen test subject… had always been Aubrey?
The werewolf he admired most… was actually Aubrey? This female omega he looked down on?! Oh, Moon Goddess!
