By the time Alpha Henry and Aubrey returned home, it was already seven in the evening.

Aubrey hadn’t slept for over fifty hours, but buoyed by the excitement of their success, her spirits were still high. Alpha Henry, however, had been awake for more than eighty hours.

Even the strongest alpha couldn’t hold out. He had relied on sheer willpower to accurately deliver the follow–up commands. The moment everyone left, he slumped onto the desk and fell fast asleep.

This was the scene Aubrey saw when she brought food in. Alpha Henry was resting on the desk, his breathing even. His handsome face and relaxed brow made him look as beautiful as an angel. Although he was tall and lanky, the way he slept hunched over was surprisingly cute.

Aubrey saw how soundly he was sleeping and didn’t disturb him, instead placing a blanket over him.

But the moment she moved, Alpha Henry woke up. His eyes were full of bloodshot veins. This appearance was a world apart from the vigorous man who had navigated the crowds during the day, but it was inexplicably endearing–especially with a few strands of hair sticking up, making him look like a handsome man straight out of a manga.

“Ugh… I fell asleep?”

Alpha Henry’s voice was extremely hoarse. He looked dazed and harmless.

He rarely gave off this feeling. When awake, he was always driven and full of energy, with the brightness and heat of a diamond.

Aubrey nodded. “Go sleep in bed?”

“But…” Alpha Henry looked at the computer. “There’s still work to do…”

“Do it tomorrow.”

Aubrey half–dragged, half–pulled Alpha Henry. “I’ll sleep with you.”

The hands Alpha Henry had been gripping the desk with instantly let go.

Sleep together?

In that moment, Alpha Henry felt as if he’d been shot with an stimulant, and he stood of vigor.

Ten minutes later… Alpha Henry looked at Aubrey, unsure whether to laugh or cry. It turned out her “sleep together” meant sleeping at the same time, but in their respective beds.

In the bedroom, the bed Aubrey had slept in previously had never been moved out, so there were still two beds in the room. They could indeed sleep separately. Alpha Henry felt a twinge of regret. If I’d known, I would have moved it out sooner!

Then, before Aubrey could say anything, he immediately pulled her onto the bed. Perhaps because he was so tired, he was asleep in less than three seconds.

He slept deeply, clearly much more at ease than when he was at the desk.

After her surprise, Aubrey didn’t pull her hand free. Instead, she turned on her side, carefully studying the exquisite profile of his face. Her fingers gently toyed with his long eyelashes. His eyelids fluttered, but he didn’t wake, only frowning slightly. His lips seemed to pout a little, as if in displeasure.

In that moment, Aubrey felt as if she had been bewitched and leaned in a little closer.

“Just what kind of person are you…”

To make me like you from the very first glance, to make me unable to stop seeing you as the brightest light in the world, drawn to you like a moth to a flame. Even in a new life, I still can’t control my desire to be close to you…

A trace of confusion appeared in Aubrey’s beautiful eyes. Then, she lowered her head and lightly pressed a kiss to his thin lips.

Alpha Henry, fast asleep, knew nothing. But the hand holding hers unconsciously tightened, just a little.
