Before Aubrey could answer, the nurse continued with a laugh, “Dr. Mary, you’re so lucky. Even though you’re an omega like me, you became the alpha’s sister and earned his protection and favor. And so many people like you!
“Dr. Darren is great, too. He’s handsome and gentle, and all the other doctors and nurses ask him out, but he always says no. He’s clearly taken with you! I heard he’s always kept to himself and has never been with any other female wolves!”
Hearing this, before Aubrey could even react, two purple flames ignited in Alpha Henry’s eyes.
He stared fiercely at Aubrey. In the darkness, her body trembled, and she felt a strange twinge of guilt. She replied loudly to the nurse.
“Don’t talk nonsense. He doesn’t like me…”
“Isn’t it obvious?” the omega nurse said with envy. “Dr. Darren waits to have lunch with you every day, and he comes to find you whenever he’s free. He’s never been this proactive with anyone before.”
Aubrey wanted to cry. “You’re mistaken, he just comes by to ask questions…”

please, those are just excuses! Dr. Darren’s father is the director of the municipal hospital! His medical skills are top–tier in this city. How could he possibly have that many questions?”
At this, any romantic thoughts Henry had were completely consumed by rage. What blind fool dared to covet his Luna? He must have a death wish!
“Okay, fine… but I’m not having dinner with him tonight. Please refuse for me…” At this point, Aubrey could only sigh.
“Oh… you’re refusing? Why? Is it… are you still in love with the alpha?” The nurse was also aware that Aubrey had once been Alpha Henry’s fiancée.
That question immediately made Alpha Henry lower his head to look at Aubrey. Aubrey felt the world go dark.
And the nurse was still pressing, “Dr. Mary, I also heard about what happened on Howling Cliff, how the alpha jumped right after you. He’s truly good to you. So, you do still love him, don’t you?”
The gaze from above her grew more intense, like two lasers about to bore right through her. Aubrey didn’t want to answer. She urged, “I need to rest. Please go, okay? And close the door on

“Alright, Dr. Mary. Rest well.”
The omega nurse agreed, disappointed, and turned to leave.

The moment the door closed, Alpha Henry switched the light on, his eyes burning as he stared at her.
“Tell me the answer. Do you still love me?”
Aubrey pressed her temples, groaning weakly, “I… I have a headache…” She didn’t want to say.
Alpha Henry was relentless, pressing her. “Tell me.”
Aubrey stared up at the ceiling, pretending not to hear.
After a long moment, Alpha Henry sighed softly. “Aubrey, what on earth am I going to do with you…” He narrowed his eyes, as if he’d made a decision. “If you won’t say it, then I’ll say it.”
“Hmm?” Aubrey blinked, instinctively looking at him.
His expression was serious, his purple eyes filled with nothing but her reflection.
“I love you, Aubrey.”
na Henry spoke each word slowly and clearly. “I don’t want to be separated from you for a gle moment, a single minute, or a single second. I love you, more than you could ever know.”
Aubrey bit her lower lip, unsure how to respond to such a passionate declaration.
But before she could think of what to say, Alpha Henry’s face paled slightly, as if he had misunderstood her silence.
“…Forget it. You need time, I’ll give it to you. I just… I just don’t want to hear anything from you that I don’t want to hear, alright?”
Aubrey slowly nodded. For some reason, she felt a pang of guilt. Seeing his dejected expression, she found herself saying:
“Um… let’s have dinner together tonight…”
The moment the words left her mouth, she wanted to take them back. But seeing the sudden light flare up in Alpha Henry’s eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to.
“Okay! I’ll go make a reservation right now. I’ll pick you up tonight!”
