454 Ambush

“As an omega, how did you make Alpha Henry fall in love with you?”

“There are rumors that you used pheromone potions to solidify Alpha Henry’s love. Is that true?”

The questions that followed gradually turned to Aubrey’s private life. After all, compared to profound and hard–to–understand medical knowledge, relationship gossip was something every werewolf could participate in and be interested in.

Aubrey remained silent the entire time, but because there were simply too many people who wanted to interview her, the short 100–meter path from the core of the venue to the outer parking area was an extremely difficult walk, as she was engulfed by reporters and frenzied crowds. The human wall formed by the bodyguards was like a lone boat in a storm, precarious against the surging tide of people.

Suddenly, Aubrey’s steps paused slightly. It wasn’t because of a sharp question, but a sense of emptiness from her soul connection–she felt Ella disappear.

Just a second ago, Ella was still relentlessly attacking a reporter who had asked a particularly rude question. The next second, dead silence.

“Ella? Are you still there?” Aubrey asked in her sea of consciousness, but found she couldn’t contact Ella. This was the first time Ella had disappeared in recent months. Even when she was conducting the live experiments for the Kajit virus, Ella had always been with her.

Moreover, she had done tests before, and the inhibitor residue in her body was almost gone. Logically, Ella shouldn’t suddenly disappear again.

Before she could figure out why, another incident occurred in the crowd!

The special silver–plated bullets drilled into the flesh, immediately triggering a violent rejection reaction. They clutched their wounds and let out painful howls. Others had their beastly instincts triggered by the sudden attack and directly transformed into their giant wolf forms, either baring their fangs to find the enemy or fleeing on their strong limbs.

The scene was chaotic. Even worse, another smoke bomb was thrown. Dense, gray–white smoke with an acrid smell instantly billowed out, like a monster’s giant maw, quickly shrouding the red carpet area!

When Barry and his men pushed through the crowd, the smoke was slowly dissipating. Only Aubrey’s broken high–heeled shoe remained, lying forlornly on the ravaged ground. She herself was gone.

After Alpha Henry’s order was given, all surrounding streets were under martial law!

His voice trembled and he gritted his teeth, “Really! Anyone else disappearing would be bad enough, but Aubrey? Now… Alpha Henry will go insane!”
