Chapter 478 I Thought You’d Kiss Me

Third–Person POV

He didn’t want Aubrey to love anyone, not even her past self. He wanted her completely, entirely for himself, not sharing even a tiny bit with anyone else!

He nuzzled her lips, taking full advantage, before slowly continuing to comb her hair.

“Tell me, is that story about your ancestor true?” Alpha Henry chuckled. “It sounds a bit like you.”

“…Am I… that stupid?”

Who knew, Aubrey had suddenly spoken!

Alpha Henry was startled. He looked down and saw her slowly opening her eyes. Her throat had a hole, and her voice was still hoarse, but she was awake, and she didn’t look like she had any side effects at all!

Alpha Henry was overjoyed!

“Don’t talk yet. I’ll go get Xavier!”

He ran a few steps, then suddenly remembered—why did he need to go himself? He quickly pressed the call bell to summon Xavier!

Xavier arrived quickly, bringing people to examine Aubrey, give her medicine, and ask questions. Alpha Henry stared at them intently, stressing them out.

“Alpha, Ms. Mary is fine. Once the wound on her neck heals, she can be discharged.” Xavier announced with a smile.

Only then did Alpha Henry smile and wave for them to leave. As they left, a young nurse glanced at Alpha Henry intentionally, but his attention was entirely on Aubrey, so he didn’t notice. The nurse had to leave, disappointed.

Aubrey saw this and couldn’t help but smile. Sunlight streamed through the window, making her skin seem almost transparent. The way she smiled, she was as pure and beautiful as an angel.

“Aubrey.”

Alpha Henry sat beside her, looking at her, his attitude as cautious as if she were a porcelain doll.

“How do you feel? Is your head still dizzy? Does your throat hurt?”

After asking, he immediately covered her mouth, saying nervously, “You’d better not talk. Your throat was cut open, it’s not healed!”

Aubrey’s eyes crinkled, full of amusement. She pulled his hand away from her mouth, leaned in, and

whispered in his car, using only her breath.

“I thought… when you saw me wake up… you’d be so excited you’d kiss me…”

He straightened her up and gave her a “fierce” glare, but his heart was racing.

Aubrey laughed silently, looking at him like a little squirrel that had stolen something. It made Alpha Henry unable to be stern, leaving him feeling helpless.
