At a table not far away, Sean sat with a few men in suits. It looked like a dinner gathering—dishes covered the table, and the atmosphere was loud and cheerful.
Annie couldn't help complaining about her bad luck.
A shadow flickered across her eyes. She looked away, refusing to glance at that table again.
As though he had sensed her eyes on him, Sean looked over. He froze when he spotted Annie, then a smug smirk curled at the corner of his lips.
So, they had bumped into each other again. He didn't believe that it was a mere coincidence.
Because of Annie, he couldn't even see Cecilia anymore. Now, it seemed that Annie was tailing him, hoping to watch him make a fool of himself.
Sean lifted his glass and deliberately raised his voice so that the whole table could hear. "Mr. Wagner, I'll be in your care. I'm new to the logistics department and still have much to learn. I'll be following your lead."
The chubby middle-aged man beside him quickly stood, visibly flattered. "Mr. Frost, you're much too polite! It's our honor to have you join the department. If you ever need anything, just let me know."
Sean soaked in the flurry of compliments, feeling very pleased with himself. He glanced at Annie, his eyes brimming with ostentatious pride.
He wanted to show that, even after leaving the hospital, he remained the scion of the Frost family.
And Annie? She was just a woman he had discarded. She had even resorted to these pathetic little tricks to spy on him.
Suzanna followed Annie's gaze and spotted Sean, too. When she saw his smug face, her temper shot straight through the roof. She snapped, "How does that jerk still have the nerve to show his face?"
She rolled up her sleeves, ready to storm over and confront him.
Annie grabbed her wrist. "Don't."
She didn't believe that he was worth getting upset over.
Annie's calm demeanor only fueled Suzanna's anger.
Seeing Suzanna glare at him only made Sean puff up even more. He raised his glass and walked straight toward their table.
