She lifted the list, then fanned out the photos as if she were selecting merchandise.

"Take a look. These women with great backgrounds and pretty faces are all from prominent families in Jynston. They're a perfect match for you. Pick one that you like, and I'll help you get closer to her."

Sean glanced at the photos. They were all strangers with sweet smiles, but the only face that kept appearing in his mind was Annie's, who was pale, stubborn, and unyielding.

His irritation spiked, and he said it without thinking, "I only want Cecilia."

Helena's temper went off like a bomb. "Cecilia! Cecilia! That's all you ever talk about!"

She shot to her feet and slammed the photos onto the table. "That woman is nothing but trouble! What could she possibly offer besides dragging you down?
