Half an hour later, the cars stopped in front of Frost Manor.
Easton stepped out of the car and walked up the steps with steady, unhurried strides. Helena and Sean followed behind him.
Bright lights filled the living room. Arthur sat back on the rosewood couch, a hot cup of tea warming his hand.
He heard the footsteps and looked up. "Easton, you're back."
His voice carried an unmistakable warmth, and even his wrinkles seemed to ease.
Easton nodded slightly. "Grandpa."
Arthur looked past Easton at Sean, and the warmth in his expression vanished, replaced by a chill.
As for Helena, Arthur didn't even spare her a glance.
Helena's heart sank. She quickly put on a pitiful look and hurried forward.
"Arthur," she said carefully. "Sean already knows that he was wrong. He resigned from the hospital today. But he can't spend every day at home doing nothing. Why don't you and Easton arrange a position for Sean at the company?"
As she spoke, she examined Arthur's face.
If Sean could just get into the company, even at a low-level position, it would be a start. After that, she would make sure he eventually received his rightful share.
Arthur burst out laughing, as though he had heard something hilarious. "Arrange a position for him?"
He set his teacup down with a heavy thud. "All he ever does is make things worse! Having him in the company would only shame the Frosts even more!"
In Arthur's mind, Sean was a total failure. All he ever did was disgrace the Frost family.
Helena flinched at the scolding. Her face went white, and her lips trembled. She didn't dare say anything else.
Sean stood where he was, with his head lowered.
The air in the living room froze.
At that moment, Easton, who had been silent the entire time, suddenly spoke.
"Send him to the logistics department," he said. "He can start as a department manager."
Helena stared at him, stunned. Arthur, too, turned to Easton in surprise.
Helena's face lit up with excitement. She had never expected Easton to be willing to give Sean a manager position.
Easton leaned back on the couch, relaxed and unbothered.
In his view, it was safer to keep Sean within sight than to let him roam freely and cause more trouble.
Helena was so thrilled that her voice shook. "Thank you, Easton! Thank you!" She hurriedly nudged Sean with her elbow.
Sean jolted as if he had been snapped out of a dream. In a daze, he lifted his head to look at Easton.
