Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 54

Annie had been with Christian the entire time since she got home last night. Then she received a shock and went to bed early.

Christian wondered when she could have submitted the design draft. He had some doubts, but he didn't interrupt Linda as she continued to speak over the phone.

"Ms. Steward did very well in the design contest last time, so I had high hopes for her work." Linda sounded disappointed.

"However, not only did the draft she submitted this time fail to meet my expectations, but it's also in a completely different style. It's as if it were someone else's work."

Linda paused as if she were choosing her words carefully. "I've already e-mailed the design draft to you. You'll understand what I mean once you take a look at it."

"Alright." After Christian hung up the phone, his smile faded.

He clicked on his e-mail inbox. When the pages of the so-called design draft showed up on his screen, his gaze turned cold.

The design was overloaded with intricate lace and expensive jewels. It had sacrificed practicality and comfort for a fake sense of luxury.

Rather than a work uniform, it looked more like an expensive gown. It was tacky and over-the-top. Christian knew that this wasn't Annie's design.

Annie's designs had always been intuitive and practical. They were simple yet refined. She would never design something so impractical and flashy.

Christian's eyes darkened. It seemed that someone else had submitted the draft last night and taken credit for her work.

He wanted to see who it was. Christian drafted a new message and sent it to Linda.

Annie had gone to Mosaic Studio early in the morning. After she explained everything to Christian last night, the strange feeling in her heart finally dissipated.

When she passed by the pantry, she checked the local news on her phone.

"Due to the continuous rainfall, the mountain road to Strawforde has collapsed with a landslide. The road is completely blocked off. It is estimated that the emergency repairs will take one week."
