After making up her mind, Annie turned around and returned to her desk. She turned on her computer and quickly typed something out.
She researched Maeve's public schedule online, browsing every official website, fan support page, and media outlet. She made sure to check every possible source for Maeve's whereabouts.
Very soon, a notification caught her eye. The official Instagram account for Ruby Fashion had posted a behind-the-scenes picture ten minutes ago.
In the picture, Maeve was wearing a white bathrobe and having her makeup done. Her background was a familiar photo studio.
It seemed that Maeve was currently at Ruby Photo Studio. Annie had finally found her whereabouts. After closing the webpage, she grabbed her digital tablet and handbag and left.
The sun at noon was piercing. Annie blocked the sun with her hand and walked to the side of the road without slowing down.
Pressed for time, she didn't have the luxury of stewing in her anger and frustration. When a cab stopped by the side of the road, Annie tried to hail it.
Suddenly, she heard a familiar yet annoying voice beside her say, "Annie."
Annie paused and turned to the side. Holding a newly released handbag, Cecilia stood beneath a nearby tree. She looked at Annie with mock concern. "It really is you. I thought I got the wrong person."
She strutted up to Annie on her high heels. "I heard that Ms. Brown cancelled her collaboration with EVL."
She sounded like she was probing for information, but the delight in her eyes was apparent. Annie simply stared at her silently.
It was clear that Cecilia had intentionally dressed herself up for this. Annie figured that she must have put in a lot of effort to stage this coincidental meeting with her.
