Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 94

Roxanne sat against the cold concrete and looked up at Annie in defeat. Suddenly, Roxanne smiled.

It was true that Roxanne owed Annie. If not for her, Roxanne would never have had the chance to reenter the design industry as a mother, let alone become the CEO of Mosaic Studio.

However, Roxanne didn't have a choice as the studio's boss. The company had been teetering on the brink of collapse more than once, so she figured that she might as well gamble for the last time.

Roxanne pleaded in a hoarse voice, "Annie, I'm begging you to put the past behind us. I'm begging you. Can you hand over Ms. Monroe's contract to Mosaic Studio?"

Annie already had EVL, the backing of Parker Group, and a perfect husband. As such, Roxanne figured that it wasn't too much to ask her to share an important client with her.

Roxanne held back the part about Christian, afraid of what he might do if she revealed it.

Upon hearing that, Annie smiled. It was a humorless smile filled with disappointment.

Instead of owning up to her actions and apologizing to the innocent victims, Roxanne continued scheming and making demands of Annie.

What should have been a matter between Annie and Roxanne had ended up involving innocent Maeve and her unborn child.

"I've already filed a police report," Annie said. Despite her soft tone, her words landed like a hammer and shattered Roxanne's final hopes.

Roxanne's smile froze. She opened her mouth to say something, but she couldn't get the words out.

With everything exposed, any excuses or pleas now seemed pitiful and meaningless. She had lost.

When Annie saw her disheveled look, any sympathy she had for her dissipated. Roxanne was no longer the woman she had once admired and supported.

Annie withdrew her gaze and turned away, refusing to look at her. The clicking of her heels echoed through the parking lot, gradually fading into the distance.

When she reached the corner of the parking lot, she stopped in her tracks. Not far away, an oddly familiar black Bentley was parked.
