Restarting Life: Back From the Dead novel Chapter 26

After Felicia had been gone for an entire month, Sebastian found himself unraveling bit by bit. Nights became unbearable, and he was forced to rely on sleeping pills just to find a semblance of rest. The dosage kept increasing, and there was a terrifying moment when he nearly ended up in the emergency room. Concern for him was palpable among everyone who knew him.

They watched him closely, not just to ensure he didn’t harm himself, but also to protect one another, carefully avoiding any reckless decisions that might haunt them forever. The weight of their collective worry hung heavy in the air.

Then, just three days before the new semester at Capital University was set to begin, Felicia finally came back. Over the past month, she had journeyed across the country, seeking peace and clarity. The vastness of nature had soothed her troubled mind and calmed her restless spirit. Along the way, she had witnessed the struggles of many and had lent a helping hand to those in need.

In her prior life, she had once hoped that someone—perhaps Sebastian or even her own parents—would reach out and break the cycle of hatred that bound them all. But now, standing in the present, she realized the truth: no one else would come to rescue them. The salvation they sought had to come from within themselves.

Learning to let go was the first step toward healing.

Felicia had released all her grudges. The bitterness of the past had been cleansed. Everyone had faced the consequences they deserved. And because of that, this new life was a precious second chance—a chance for them to remain united as a family and treasure the happiness they now shared.

The painful memories of the previous life were a constant reminder never to be consumed by obsession again.

When Felicia arrived home, she took a taxi, the familiar streets welcoming her back. Her parents and Sebastian greeted her warmly at the door, each eager to help carry her luggage inside. Fiona smiled softly, her eyes kind and gentle.

“You’ve gotten a nice tan, but you look so much healthier now,” Fiona said, her voice filled with warmth. “It really suits you. You’ve been gone for such a long time. Did you bring me any souvenirs? I always made sure to bring you something whenever I traveled.”

Fiona held out her hand playfully, waving it teasingly in front of Felicia.

“Of course,” Felicia replied with a grin. “I’ll give them to you soon.”
