Lacy took a shaky breath and forced herself to walk over to Sabrina, her nerves coiled tight.
Sabrina glanced at the line of girls in front of her—each one the pampered daughter of some wealthy family.
Well, looks like everyone’s here.
“So, the rumors online—those were started by you, weren’t they?” Her voice was sharp, slicing through the tense air.
No one answered. The girls exchanged uneasy glances, but not a single word was uttered.
“What’s the matter? Not brave enough to own up to what you did?”
That was all it took to set Elena off. “And what if it was me?” she shot back, chin lifted defiantly. “You can’t even admit what you did yourself, can you?”
Lacy was utterly baffled.
What did she even do wrong?
She hadn’t broken any laws!
Her mind blanked for a second.
All she’d done was repeat something she’d heard from someone else. She never mentioned any names. She just brought it up in passing. And now Sabrina wanted to pick a fight with her over that?
Besides, what they said was true—everyone online was talking about it. They just joined in for some gossip, nothing more.
Unbelievable. She’s actually confronting us in person?
How thick-skinned can you get?
Lacy wasn’t the only one stunned. Even Elena looked like she’d been blindsided.
Nearby, a crowd of students had gathered at the school gates, whispering among themselves.
“Seriously, what’s she trying to prove? The whole internet’s talking about her. Is she going to hunt everyone down?”
“Shh, keep your voice down. She might come after you next.”
With a sharp tug on the rope, she hauled the girls back upright, so they stood wobbling before her.
“Stand up straight. We’re not done yet…”
All around them, the crowd stared in stunned silence, barely able to believe what they were seeing.
And while everyone watched—shocked and speechless—Sabrina started slapping each of the five girls, one after another. Each slap was sharp and resounding, echoing down the hallway. By the time she finished, all five faces were swollen and red, as if they’d been painted with ripe apples.
Sabrina had spent the whole afternoon figuring out the rope trick. There were just too many people who needed a lesson, and dealing with them one by one would have been a waste of time. In the end, she’d settled on this method—brutal, but efficient.
The onlookers were floored.
Who does something like this? Hitting people right in front of the school gates?
The hallway was packed, everyone craning their necks for a better view.
The girls who’d been hit were left furious—and completely stunned.
