She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 191

Yvette almost couldn’t hold back a laugh.

Seriously... handsome?

Did Lennox need his eyes checked?

Of course, she knew he was only calling them handsome to get on their good side, hoping to coax information out of them. After spending time with Lennox, she’d realized he was sharp and level-headed, always cautious in everything he did.

This whole kidnapping mess—if it hadn’t been for trying to save her, Lennox wouldn’t have been caught up in it at all.

A heavy guilt gnawed at Yvette, mingling with fear. She was terrified they’d end up in that cruel woman’s hands again, and that Lennox would be locked in a dog cage too.

She couldn’t go back to living like that. Never again.

Lennox had been talking nonstop the whole way, though he’d steered clear of asking who was behind their kidnapping. Still, he’d managed to pick up plenty of details.

For example, their destination was a dock—meaning they’d be put on a boat. If they were shipped off by sea, they’d end up far, far away, maybe even outside Veridia.

If that happened, Sabrina would never find them.

So, they had to escape before getting on the boat.

Their captors, seeing them as just kids, weren’t being careful at all. That worked perfectly. The more Lennox acted clueless and harmless, the more the men let their guard down.

After three hours, the van finally rolled to a stop outside a warehouse.

The two men prepared to switch vehicles. In their line of work, outsmarting the police was all about quick thinking and staying one step ahead.

They’d been driving a delivery van disguised as a regular cargo transport. The kids had been hidden in the backseat of the cab, making it through a maze of surveillance cameras without being noticed.

The skinny man got out to unlock the warehouse, while the heavyset one glanced at the two “sleeping” kids before stepping out to start hauling cargo from the back.

Once both men were gone, Lennox’s eyes snapped open. He nudged Yvette, and together they slipped out of the van and darted into the shadows of the warehouse.

It didn’t take long to spot a few large cardboard boxes perfect for hiding. Some were packed with food, others with clothes and toys.

“The kids are gone!”

The skinny man, startled, dropped his box and rushed after him to search for the children.

Thud!

Lennox’s box hit the ground hard, making the world spin and his backside sting, but thankfully, the box held together.

Outside, the two men scrambled around, cursing and calling out as they searched. After fifteen long minutes, still empty-handed, they finally decided the kids must’ve slipped away with one of the trucks.

They jumped into their van and sped off in pursuit.

Once Lennox was sure they were gone, he and Yvette climbed out of their boxes, crouched low to avoid being spotted, and hurried toward the exit.

But as they slipped out of the warehouse, they both froze.

The area outside was desolate—just empty space in every direction. There was nothing out here but the warehouse itself.
