She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 230

Suddenly, she felt a pair of strong arms wrap tightly around her, pulling her out from the treacherous current.

Celine looked up.

She saw Conrad’s face, his eyes full of worry and determination.

His hands were firmly around her waist as he carried her back to safety, his voice gentle and reassuring.

“Celine, don’t be afraid. Hold on to me.”

Celine lowered her head, a flicker of disappointment crossing her eyes. Why wasn’t it Marshall?

Why did it have to be Conrad?

So many people had seen Conrad carrying her today—what would Marshall think?

The group standing by the poolside finally let out a sigh of relief.

Conrad set Celine down on the pool deck and began gently drying her soaked hair, comforting her in a soft voice.

“Don’t worry. I’ll always be here for you.”

Inside, Celine was fuming. Damn Wanda—she couldn’t even handle a simple task and ended up pushing her into the pool.

Marshall’s heart nearly exploded when he saw Conrad carrying a dripping-wet Celine in his arms.

His girl, held by someone else?

But pride kept him from making a scene. He simply turned on his heel and stalked away from the pool.

Hester immediately followed after him.

Sabrina shot Uliana a look, and Uliana nodded, trailing the two from a distance.

Meanwhile, Celine, still dripping wet, followed a housekeeper off to change her clothes.

At that moment, someone stepped in to lighten the mood, suggesting, “Why don’t we just turn this into a pool party?”

Everyone eagerly agreed—on a hot day like this, nothing sounded better than relaxing in the pool.

Originally, the pool party was supposed to be that evening, with the girls on one side, the boys on the other.

But after the unexpected turn of events, Celine couldn’t very well turn down their enthusiasm. She simply nodded in agreement.

With a quick shift in tactics, she let go of her friends’ hands and trotted over, a bright smile on her face.

“Sabrina, come join us for the pool party! It’s fine if you can’t swim—just stay in the shallow end and you’ll be perfectly safe.”

She worried Sabrina might refuse, so she quickly added, “And if you really need it, there are floaties too.”

At that, a few girls nearby started snickering.

“How embarrassing—she can’t even swim.”

“Keep your voice down. She’s from the country. It’s normal for her not to know how to swim.”

“Yeah, but using floaties? Just picturing it is hilarious…”

Every word of their gossip drifted over to Celine and Sabrina.

Celine pretended not to hear and kept trying to coax Sabrina into the pool.

Sabrina responded coolly, “Sorry, it’s that time of the month.”
