She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 257

At that moment, Sabrina sat calmly by the floor-to-ceiling windows in her room, gazing out at the city. On the surface, she appeared serene, but inside, her mind was racing—she couldn’t afford the slightest mistake.

Celine’s failed attempt to deliver the dress was only the beginning; Sabrina was sure she had something else planned. And then there was Hester, who’d been far too quiet lately. Unnaturally quiet.

Just as Sabrina was lost in thought, someone knocked at the door.

“Miss, there’s a young lady named Stella here to see you,” announced the maid.

Sabrina sprang to her feet and opened the door. “Where is she?” she asked.

The maid pointed downstairs to a girl in a pretty dress. “She’s just there!”

At that moment, Stella looked up and spotted Sabrina. She waved enthusiastically.

Sabrina signaled for her to come upstairs.

Stella caught the hint and hurried up, moving as quickly as her awkward shoes allowed. God, could she feel any more out of place? She’d worn a dress she didn’t even like just for this party, and when she arrived at the Sutton family’s mansion, she realized she didn’t know a single soul. She’d ended up standing awkwardly by herself, nibbling and sipping at canapés and punch.

As soon as Stella reached the landing, she threw her arms around Sabrina. “If I’d known, I’d have worn flats. These heels are a nightmare—not all women are meant for them!”

She glanced down at her shoes. They were a last-minute purchase, just a bit too big, and every step felt unsteady.

Sabrina noticed the stylish but ill-fitting heels. “We’re about the same size, aren’t we? I’ve got a few new pairs—try them on,” she offered.

Stella raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled. “How can you be so sure we have the same shoe size?”

Sabrina realized she’d spoken without thinking and shrugged. “I have an eye for these things.”

Stella gave her a look, half amused, half skeptical.

Sabrina shot him a warning glance, but Stella’s gossip radar was already on high alert. She scampered over to Bryce. “You’re dating Sabrina, aren’t you?”

Bryce nearly choked, coughing twice. “What? No! I’m way too pure for all that. And besides, Sabrina’s not even of age yet. What’s going on in your head? Out of the way, Stella!” He poked her forehead with his finger to nudge her back.

Sabrina didn’t bother to get involved, letting their banter fill the room while she grabbed three new pairs of shoes from the closet. “Stella, come try these on.”

“Coming!” Stella shot Bryce a look and went straight to Sabrina.

Bryce, feeling a little left out, tried to get her attention. “Sabrina, aren’t you happy to see me? I mean, sure, we see each other every day, but today’s special—I’m here as an honored guest at your party!”

Sabrina looked at him, this oversized kid, and had to stifle a laugh. “Of course you’re welcome—I might need a favor from you someday, after all!”

Stella, halfway through changing her shoes, glanced up at the two of them, utterly confused.
