The sound of a door unlocking broke the heavy silence.

Miles instinctively turned toward the noise.

A young man stepped inside. He was tall, lean, and devastatingly handsome. His finely sculpted features seemed almost unreal, each line cut with precision, his presence refined and commanding. The quiet nobility radiating from him was nothing like that of an ordinary bodyguard.

Recognition dawned instantly in Miles’s eyes. “You! That boytoy hanging around Sharon!”

Thomas’s black eyes narrowed slightly, cold and fathomless as a winter lake. A wave of suffocating pressure swept through the room, the chill of it cutting straight into Miles’s bones.

His heart gave a violent thump. Fear crept up his spine, and his knees began to tremble.

“You–what do you think you’re doing?” Miles barked, his voice shaking despite the bravado. “How dare you kidnap me? Let me go, now! I’m warning you–release me while you still can, and I might let you live. Otherwise, I’ll tear you apart limb by limb!

“And your boss, Sharon–she’s your lover, isn’t she? Ha! I’ll have her dragged here too. Then I’ll show you exactly how I–argh!

Thomas’s eyes flashed with lethal intent. Before Miles could finish his sentence, he was slammed to the floor.

Thomas’s polished leather shoe pressed mercilessly against Miles’s face. The sickening crunch of breaking bone and shattering teeth echoed through the room, sending chills down the spine.

A terrified scream rang out–the secretary, who had just regained consciousness, recoiled in horror.

Thomas lifted his gaze toward her, expression cold and unreadable.

The woman went white as paper, clapped a trembling hand over her mouth, and shrank into a corner, too terrified to make another sound.

At that moment, the door opened again.

A young man in a tailored suit entered, bowing respectfully before Thomas.

“Mr. Ferrero,” he said softly, “how would you like us to deal with them?”

Thomas’s voice was calm, almost dispassionate. “Find out who’s behind it.”

His eyes gleamed with a dark, predatory light. “Cut his d*ck off, and make him watch as his secretary eats it.‘

The subordinate’s lashes flickered. His breath hitched ever so slightly. “Yes, sir.”

Thomas’s gaze lingered for a moment longer. “And one more thing…”

More?

“Feed the bodies to the dogs.”

Without another glance, he turned and walked away.

Moments later, the air split with Miles’s agonized screams.

Miles was never seen again.

Because he had disappeared during the Kalen family’s banquet, the Silverstone family kept pressing them for answers. They even accused Sharon of orchestrating the kidnapping herself–of imprisoning Miles as revenge.
