Sharon nodded. “Then please ask him for me.”

The next morning, barely at her desk, Thomas stopped her. “I’ve contacted him. He can meet today.”

“So soon?” Sharon asked, surprised.

“Get it dealt with early,” Thomas said. “Then we can move to the next step.”

She thought for a beat and asked, “What’s your friend’s name?”

“Liam Yale.”

“Does he use an alias?”

At the café, Sharon looked at the guy across from her-and she hadn’t expected him to be so young.

Sharon smiled. “Any friend of Thomas is mine too. No need to be formal.”

He laughed and relaxed. “All right, then I won’t be formal.”
