401 Trust Me
The adjutant silently rolled his eyes.
He reached out to stop Lily again and said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Yates.
“Our rules say you have to stay here until someone from the Enchanter Clan comes to pick you up.”
Being stopped once again made Lily furious.
She slapped his hand away and asked sharply, “Lieutenant Sullivan, what if I insist on leaving?”
The adjutant gave her a look, then blocked her path again. His voice stayed firm. “We have to make sure every female is safely handed over to her clan folk or her mate.”
“You!”
Lily’s face darkened, and she glared at him in rage.
She felt he was doing this on purpose.
“If you don’t move, I won’t hold back!”
She flipped her hand, and soft pink charm energy gathered at her fingertips. A sweet but dangerous scent spread through the air.
The lieutenant saw she was about to attack, but he didn’t show even a hint of fear.
He stayed in place, not budging.
Lily was just about to strike when Dahlia grabbed her.
“Lily, don’t be impulsive!”
This was Lucien’s warship.
If they caused trouble here, they would end up paying for it.
And Lily still needed to get close to Emma. She couldn’t ruin everything over something so small.
“Dahlia, don’t stop me.

“I’m going to beat this stupid male today. He actually dared to block me.”
In the Empire, if a female hit a male, the male couldn’t fight back.
What an idiot.
Seeing Lily about to attack the lieutenant, Dahlia cursed her in her heart and whispered a warning.
“Did you forget you still need to find your brother?
“If you attack Lucien’s adjutant and upset him, he won’t let you see Ms. Tibarn. Then what will you do about your brother?”
Before picking a fight, one needs to make sure they know who they’re dealing with.
This idiot Lily actually wants to kill Lucien’s adjutant on his own warship.
It’s like she has a death wish or something.
Dahlia held Lily’s hand tightly and spoke softly.
“Wait here for me. I’ll go talk to Kael and His Highness.
“Don’t worry. I’ll explain everything and ask His Highness to let you leave with me.”
She swallowed her urge to strangle Lily and looked at her with a gentle, sincere expression.
“Lily, trust me, okay?”
Lily looked into Dahlia’s sincere eyes, and the anger in her heart finally settled.
She bit her lip and realized Dahlia had a point. So she nodded hesitantly.
“Fine, Dahlia. Go and come back quickly. I’ll wait here.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t keep you waiting.”
After calming Lily, Dahlia turned to the adjutant and apologized.
“Sorry, Lieutenant Sullivan. Lily’s just a bit hot–tempered.
“Please don’t take it personally.”
The adjutant nodded and gestured for her to go.

Then he signaled the medics to close the recovery pod door again.
They locked Lily inside so she couldn’t get out.
She wanted to fight me?
Ha!
I would definitely make sure His Highness put this on the Enchanter Clan’s record.
The adjutant took Dahlia to the reception room.
“Dahlia!”
Kael jumped up the moment he saw her.
He rushed over and pulled Dahlia into a tight hug.
“I’m so glad you’re okay. I was worried sick!”
Dahlia rested against him, listening to how his voice shook with worry and relief.
She lifted a hand and gently patted his back. “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”
“How could you be fine? His Highness said he found you on the Chitinids‘ warship.”
Kael checked her anxiously.
“Let me see if those disgusting Chitinids hurt you.”
The moment she heard “disgusting Chitinids,” Dahlia cursed Kael in her heart.
