Damon slammed into the ground, coughing blood, the violent recoil ripping through his meridians. His vision doubled, then tripled. Wyrm’s Breath had overloaded, too much fire, too much abyssal essence, and too much raw power shoved into the technique. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
But it was all worth it. The entire domain cracked and shattered, instantly allowing mana to flood everywhere.
Damon grinned as he unleashed the vicious poison domain that was begging to be released from his body. Instantly, his healing, his health regeneration, his mana regeneration, his stamina regeneration, his attack power, his defense power, everything picked up.
Power swirled around him, changing him from top to bottom. His veins lit up with toxic light, spirals of red-black venom racing beneath his skin like molten rivers waking from hibernation. A tidal wave of venomous aura exploded outward.
WHOOOOM.
The First’s shadowy domain collapsed like wet paper, the last fragments of darkness peeling away as Damon’s poison flooded the space with suffocating dominance.
The shadows that once ate his attacks now melted under his poison. The ground corroded into bubbling pits. The air hissed. Even the First staggered backward, his mask cracking along one side.
His voice trembled with disbelief. "Impossible... that venom... this level of toxin... no C-rank can produce this."
Damon straightened, rolling his shoulders as torn flesh knitted together, bones reformed, mana surged, and stamina refilled as if he had never taken a hit. His regeneration skyrocketed to the point that the wounds sealed before the next heartbeat finished.
"Oh, I know," Damon said dryly. "Feels great, right?"
He flexed his fingers as the poison domain thickened around him, forming concentric rings of swirling viridian and blood-red mist. Every second it stayed active, Damon grew faster, stronger, more vicious, like a living catastrophe gaining momentum.
"You will fall today!" It looked like the First was not ready to throw in the towel. His voice rang everywhere as black blurs continued to attack Damon at a ridiculous speed. The man only left afterimages as streaks of pitch-black slashes carved through the poisoned air like black lightning bolts. Every strike was lethal, precise, faster than the last.
However, Damon was not the same person anymore. He was able to match that monstrous speed with one of his own and he also brought the power to the game.
Damon became a red blur streaked with green-black poison, while the First moved as a pitch-black phantom. The two clashed again and again across the massive cult hall, tearing it apart piece by piece.
But that was all it amounted to. Speed, motion, destruction. Neither of them managed to land a single decisive blow on the other.
It was right at this moment that First changed his momentum. His black blur sped right into the ominous black portal swirling at the head of the massive hall.
Damon, on the other hand, did not follow him inside blindly. Instead, he came to a freezing halt, taking a look at the portal first. The Third quietly appeared near him while looking around nervously.
"Ughh. Master, I suggest that you do not follow him in there. That’s the entrance to our sacred place. The legacy of Umbra. And listen carefully, he knows more about it than any of us. Way more. Like, unfairly more. He practically lived in there for years. I once spent three minutes inside and cried blood for two days..."
Damon didn’t respond. He stared at the swirling black portal, the surface shifting like liquid shadow.
The Third leaned in closer, lowering his voice. "Master, please. That place is full of... trials. Tests. Monsters that make abyssal beasts look like cuddly pets. Also some thing that tried to lick my soul once. I’m still traumatized. My soul is still traumatized. My future children’s souls are probably traumatized."
