Storms of the Heart novel Chapter 21

Julian wondered, "Whose is that shirt? A roommate? Or… some other man? Has Trin been living with someone else?"

The thought slithered into his mind like a venomous snake, instantly destroying every shred of reason within him.

Jealousy burned his eyes red.

He nearly lost control and gave in to the urge to rush upstairs, smash the door, and confront the man who had so easily stepped into Trina's life. He clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his palms, barely restraining the all-consuming, destructive impulse surging through him.

But he quickly realized he had no right.

To Trina, he was just an ex-husband, someone who had hurt her deeply, someone she now despised. He had no right to interfere in her life.

That realization brought a crushing sense of powerlessness and pain that tore him apart from the inside.

Still, he refused to give up. Soon, he discovered that Trina often went out to dinner with friends at a Joydenese restaurant in Spicetown.

He arrived early, picked a quiet corner, and ordered a pot of tea, though he couldn't bring himself to take a sip. His eyes remained fixed firmly on the entrance.

Finally, Trina walked in with her friends, laughing and chatting.

That day, she wore a pale yellow dress that made her skin look even more flawless, her smile bright and radiant like a beam of light cutting through the slightly dim restaurant.

Julian's heart skipped a beat, and he nearly leapt to his feet, moving toward her on instinct.

But Trina's eyes casually swept the room—and then locked onto his, blazing with intensity and conflicting emotions.

Her smile froze, then vanished completely, replaced by undisguised coldness and annoyance. Without hesitation, she said something to her friends and then turned on her heel, walking out without looking back.

"Trin!" Julian sprinted after her, not caring about anything else.

Outside, a light drizzle had started without him noticing. He caught up to Trina in a few quick strides and grabbed her wrist on the wet street.

"Trin, listen to me! Just five minutes—no, three minutes will do!"
