Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1056

Camila spun around and shot him a sharp look. “Well, whose fault is it that I barely slept?”

Dennis didn’t waste a second before owning up. “It’s my fault. I should have let you get more rest.”

That handsome face of his, paired with that gentle smile, always made it impossible for Camila to stay mad. She tore her gaze away, still a little huffy. “So you admit it’s your fault, but you’re still just standing there? Come on, get up, we have reservations!”

“I’m up, I’m up,” Dennis said, playing along. He watched her move across the room, her steps still a little clumsy, and almost reached out to help. But she caught him looking and gave him another glare. This side of Camila, fiery and full of life, was something he rarely got to see. The last bit of disappointment in his heart melted away, and suddenly everything felt lighter.

Once they were both dressed, Camila seemed to have bounced back, and they set out together, both in a great mood. The morning was spent wandering through Kaston's most famous sights, snapping photos whenever something caught their eye. Whenever they got tired, they’d find a bench and just relax, letting the day unfold without any real plan.

Camila was clearly having the time of her life. When they passed through a bustling square, she stopped to feed the pigeons, laughing like she was just another tourist. Dennis stood behind her, smiling to himself and quietly taking photos, wanting to remember every second.

For lunch, Dennis had booked a table at a well-known French restaurant. They enjoyed local dishes, lingering over their food and soaking up the atmosphere. Later, they found a cozy café, ordered coffee and pastries, and sat by the window with a view of the city’s iconic tower in the distance.

While Camila lost herself in taking pictures, Dennis quietly slipped away for a moment. He found Aaron and the bodyguards and told them to keep an eye on her. Then he headed for a nearby jewelry shop, a place that looked straight out of a story, with its old stone facade and air of quiet luxury. The shop had been around for more than a hundred years, making jewelry for royals and nobles. Their craft had been handed down from one generation to the next, and now, they only took on a few special commissions each year.

Dennis had arranged everything before they even landed in Kaston. As soon as he stepped inside, the owner greeted him. “Mr. Williams, I’ve been expecting you.”
