Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1110

Lavinia’s calm vanished the instant she realized where they were taking her. This wasn’t a police station. It was some underground dungeon, cold and damp, filled with the heavy footsteps of menacing guys in black. They stood in a line, each one built like a wall, and every bit as intimidating.

She froze. “You’re not the police!” Panic crashed over her as she tried to bolt, but it was pointless. One of the men grabbed her with an arm as solid as a steel bar, hauling her off the ground and tossing her into a metal cage.

The lock snapped closed. It sounded final.

Lavinia scrambled up, heart pounding, trying to look brave. Her voice came out louder than she meant, shaky but defiant. “Who are you? Why are you doing this to me?”

From behind the row of goons, a man stepped forward. He had a brutal scar running from his left eye down his cheek, and his stare was ice-cold. This was Blackdog, one of Aaron and RedFox’s guys—legendary for the wrong reasons.

He didn’t waste time. “Enough with the act. Just tell me. Did you have anything to do with Camila Davis’s kidnapping?”

Hearing Camila’s name was like getting punched in the gut. Lavinia’s face went pale. So, it was out. Sandra, you idiot. She wanted to scream, but this was not the moment for blame. No way could she admit to anything.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she managed, her words tumbling out fast and desperate. “Camila Davis? Kidnapping? You’ve got the wrong person. I’m just here on vacation.”

Blackdog snorted. “Sandra Taylor already gave you up. Said you were the mastermind. You know who Ms. Davis is connected to, right? You remember what happened last time. You got a second chance back home and still couldn’t keep your nose clean. Now you’re here, far from home. Do you really think you’ll make it out of this place in one piece?”

He was ruthless, and Lavinia could see it in his eyes. He grabbed a remote and pressed a button.

A metal plate next to her cage slid away, slow and loud. Behind it, she saw several huge, snarling dogs. They looked half-starved, their eyes locked onto her as their jaws dripped with saliva.

Just in case the threat wasn’t clear, Blackdog took something from a henchman and threw it at her. The liquid splashed across her, warm and sticky.

Lavinia screamed. The stench of blood hit her, thick and sickening. She doubled over, gagging, then clung to the cage bars, voice trembling. “What do you want from me?”

Blackdog looked bored. “You see those dogs? They’ve eaten nothing but raw meat their whole lives. They haven’t been fed in days. If you don’t start talking, you’ll be their next meal.”

He tossed a stack of photos through the bars. “Keep lying if you want. But first, look at what happened to Sandra Taylor.”
