Dennis listened, his face dark.

Jarvis looked worried about Camila too, but as a doctor, he tried to reassure them. “Let’s not panic. Both our teams are moving as fast as they can. With Professor Keri heading the institute’s research, things are really moving along. We just need to hang in there and keep the faith. I really believe we’ll get good news soon.”

Dennis took a deep breath, trying to calm the anger simmering inside him. He looked at Jarvis and Kyle. “Thank you both for everything. If you need anything, call me right away.”

Kyle just shook his head. “No need to thank us, Mr. Williams. I watched Camila grow up. She’s like my own daughter. I’d do anything for her.”

Jarvis felt the same. He’d always admired Camila, and she’d even taught him so much about medicine. He had called in every expert and family member he could think of to help with the research, even pulling strings to get some top specialists involved. No one could say he wasn’t giving it his all.

Once Dennis had checked on Camila’s condition, he left the research institute and went home to be with her and Lillian. Maybe it was the G-1, but when he arrived, Camila was still fast asleep. She didn’t even stir when he came in and sat by her bedside.

Seeing her like that made his heart ache. He didn’t wake her. Instead, he quietly changed and lay down next to her, holding her close as he tried to rest.

He woke up again when the sky was already getting dark.

Aaron had just come back and was waiting for him. “Mr. Williams, we’ve found the local contact Sandra Taylor and the others were working with.”

Dennis’s voice was icy. “Who is it?”

Aaron kept it simple. “His name is Patton. He’s originally from a poor mountain village in the south. Years ago, right after he left home, he was tricked into working as illegal labor overseas. He ended up stranded in a foreign country and did whatever he had to do to survive. At some point, Nicholas Lee saved his life. After that, he changed his name to Patton and started working for Nicholas as his right-hand man. Over a decade ago, when the Lee family started branching out overseas, Patton was Nicholas Lee’s bodyguard and driver. Later, when business took off and Nicholas moved back to the country, Patton started working for Cynthia Lee instead. These days he keeps a low profile and rarely shows his face in public.”

Dennis’s eyes turned cold and dangerous. “The Lee family really does have some nerve.”

Aaron nodded. “Yeah, we have solid proof now. And there’s something else you should know.”
