Camila Davis perked up instantly.
Mr. Williams was going to help Lillian with her treatment again?
There was no way she’d say no to that. She replied right away, “I’ll be there on time!”
Her parents, noticing the sudden shift in her mood, immediately asked, “Who was that? You look so happy!”
Camila answered honestly, “It was Mr. Williams. He’s arranged to help Lillian with her treatment tomorrow.”
They’d just heard about Dennis Williams and his impressive track record, so they were thrilled too.
With someone so dedicated, Lillian was bound to get better even faster!
That’s exactly what Camila thought. So, the next afternoon, she packed up Lillian and Lightning, their excitable golden retriever, and headed out.
Dennis Williams had picked a place by the sea called Riverside.
Riverside was pretty famous around Harrisburg—a local hotspot, always packed with people.
But when Camila arrived, something felt off.
The whole area was strangely quiet. The beach was empty, and even the landscaping along the roads looked different—every tree and shrub was the kind you’d see in magazines about fancy homes.
Not far off stood a massive, luxurious mansion.
And hadn’t they just passed through a security gate with a guard when they came in?
What was going on? Had she taken a wrong turn?
Camila pulled out her phone, double-checking the location Aaron had sent. Nope—this was definitely the spot.
So where was Mr. Williams?
Just as she was scanning the area, a distant rumble caught her attention.
Was that… a helicopter?
She looked up, and sure enough, a helicopter was speeding toward them, circling once before settling down on the helipad atop the mansion.
Camila’s heart skipped a beat. Was Mr. Williams really arriving by helicopter?
So that’s what this was about!
No wonder the place felt so exclusive.
Still, she couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer wealth it took to own a private stretch of beach and a mansion this grand.
While she was quietly stunned, Dennis turned his focus to Lillian.
He crouched down to her level, his tone gentle. “Do you like playing in the water? It’s warm today, perfect for wading and building sandcastles. Want to give it a try?”
Lillian’s eyes lit up. “Yes, please!”
She’d never been anywhere like this before. Everything was new and exciting, and she couldn’t wait to dive in.
Dennis ruffled her hair with a soft smile. “Alright, let’s get you changed. Your mom will help you put on your swimsuit.”
Camila hadn’t expected to go swimming and hadn’t packed anything for it. She opened her mouth to explain, but just then, a housekeeper appeared, polite and efficient.
“Ms. Davis, if you’ll follow me, I’ll show you and your daughter to the changing rooms. Everything’s ready for you.”
