Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 191

Camila Davis only realized just then that her parents had booked a restaurant inside the city’s fanciest hotel.

Wow, they really went all out this time.

They must’ve dropped a small fortune on this.

But for Lillian’s sake, they’d do anything.

And of course, Mr. Williams was definitely worth rolling out the red carpet.

Soon enough, all three of them hopped out of the car and headed into the hotel.

Watching from his own car across the street, Jordan Smith felt like the air around him had suddenly dropped twenty degrees. The inside of his SUV was so tense, it could’ve frozen over.

He’d thought Camila sneaking off to the beach with another guy was already pushing it.

But a hotel? Was she seriously checking into a hotel with him?

Camila Davis, you are disgusting.

No wonder you asked for a divorce so quickly—guess you couldn’t wait to jump ship. No wonder The Smiths have been so unsettled lately.

Nathan Gates, sitting in the passenger seat, shivered but still managed to ask, “Should we follow them, sir? They’re already heading into the lobby.”

Jordan didn’t answer. He just shoved the car door open and stalked out, moving so fast he practically brought a chill with him.

Camila had no idea what was happening behind her, not until she heard rushed footsteps and then suddenly—someone grabbed her wrist, hard.

So hard, she thought her bones might snap. He yanked her back, making her stumble.

“Ah—!”

Camila gasped, barely catching herself before she fell. She looked up, straight into Jordan Smith’s furious face.

“Camila Davis,” he spat, “you’ve really outdone yourself. Bringing Lillian and another man to a hotel? Do you have no shame? Or did you forget you’re still a married woman?”

His voice was low and dangerous, his glare so sharp it could cut steel.

Camila just stared at him, stunned.

He shot a look at Dennis Williams, who stood tall and calm beside them, every bit as intimidating as Jordan himself.

And there was something familiar about him...

Wait. Wasn’t this the same guy Camila had gotten into a car with outside Lillian’s kindergarten?

“So, you’ve been fooling around all along,” Jordan sneered. “Stop pretending to be a saint.”

Tears stung Camila’s eyes—half from the pain, half from anger.

She struggled harder. This man was impossible.

Jordan looked like he might just snap her wrist out of pure rage.

Suddenly, Dennis Williams, who’d been silent this whole time, spoke up—his voice cool and commanding.

“She said you’re hurting her. Didn’t you hear?”

And with a firm, unyielding grip, Dennis pried Jordan’s hand away, breaking his hold with an ease that brooked no argument.
