Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 200

But Jordan Smith knew better.

These days, Camila Davis probably couldn’t care less about his leg.

Last time he needed a prescription, she barely made it to the pharmacy before bailing on him. And now, she had a parade of men around her—she clearly had better things to do!

Jordan couldn’t help but feel annoyed.

When did that woman get so stubborn?

He hated this feeling—like things were slipping out of his control.

Sandra Taylor wasn’t exactly thrilled, either.

She never expected Camila’s medical skills would leave such a lasting impression on Jordan.

Seriously, so what if she knows a bit about acupuncture? It’s not like she’s the only doctor in town.

His leg wasn’t even as bad as it used to be. Any decent specialist could handle it, right?

There was no way she was letting those two get close again!

With that thought, Sandra immediately dialed up her most soothing voice. “Jordan, I’m sure Camila’s too busy living her best life right now to even remember your leg… How about I find you a trustworthy doctor? Someone to help with your rehab?”

She continued, “I’ve heard about this legendary old doctor down South—people say he’s like the reincarnation of Hippocrates or something. He’s the head of a big medical institute, super respected, and even politicians line up to see him. If anyone can outdo Camila, it’s him.”

Jordan had heard the rumors about this “medical school” guy, but when Camila was around, he’d never really cared.

Now though, with Camila basically giving him the cold shoulder, she was probably just waiting for him to come crawling back. Well, he wasn’t about to let her win!

He nodded. “Thanks, Sandra. That means a lot.”

Sandra smiled sweetly. “Of course! I’m happy to help.”

Back then, she let a lot of people down for Jordan Smith—including Dr. Wilson, who was so angry he cut off contact.

She really did owe him an apology.

“I’ll visit him, just not yet,” she promised. “When my new medication launches, I’ll have something to show for it. If I show up empty-handed, he’ll probably toss me out on the street!”

Her parents found that reasonable, so they didn’t push. They hugged her goodbye and headed home.

Once they were gone, Camila squeezed in an appointment to check on Helen Adams.

After last time’s lecture, Helen was much more obedient—no more sneaking out to see her boyfriend behind the doctor’s back.

With a cooperative patient, Camila’s treatments were a breeze.

After Helen’s routine check-up that afternoon, Camila smiled and said, “You’re healing well. Give it another week, and you’ll be good as new.”
