The call went through quickly.
But the person who answered was Aaron.
Mr. White tried to sound casual as he asked, “Hey Aaron, any idea when Mr. Williams will be coming over to the base?”
Besides passing on the good news about the team members’ recovery, he had promised to ask on Ms. Davis’s behalf. After all, she’d just pulled off something pretty impressive.
Aaron replied briskly, “He’s just about to head over. Why, is something up? Is it urgent?”
“Not exactly,” Mr. White said with a smile in his voice. “Just wanted to share some good news.”
He continued honestly, “You know how Mr. Harris brought in a doctor these past couple of days to help with the team? This doc is something else—she can fix old injuries like it’s magic. Today, she checked out Carl and Luke, and immediately spotted some nerve damage in their brains… Turns out, their issues weren’t psychological at all. She treated them right there on the spot. Now, Carl and Luke are both as good as new!”
Aaron let out a surprised whistle. “No way! Someone actually managed to steal your patients and cure them, too? That’s a first!”
He sounded both amused and intrigued. This didn’t happen every day.
“So, who is this miracle worker? What’s her story?” he pressed.
Mr. White replied, “Her name’s Camila Davis, goes by ‘D. Hospital’ as an alias. She’s a friend of Mr. Harris, pretty young, and her acupuncture skills are next-level. Seriously impressive!”
Although Camila Davis had tried to keep a low profile, treating high-profile clients meant background checks were inevitable. Her identity was already known to those who needed to know.
Aaron scratched his chin and said, “Alright, got it. I’ll let Mr. Williams know. We’ll talk more when we see you.”
“Sounds good,” Mr. White replied.
After they hung up, Aaron immediately went to find Dennis Williams.
Dennis had just changed clothes and was taking his time adjusting his cufflinks—making even a simple act look classy.
He’d clearly overheard Aaron on the phone, because he asked in his usual calm voice, “Who was that?”
Aaron grinned, “Mr. White. He says Carl and Luke are all better now—someone swiped your patients and fixed them up, just like that!”
Aaron was caught off guard and hit the brakes. “What? Seriously? That’s sudden!”
Dennis’s voice was calm but firm. “I just received a top-secret S-class file.”
Aaron’s eyes widened. S-class meant urgent business—no time to waste. He pressed the gas, changing course straight for the airport.
By the time they arrived, a private jet was already waiting.
Aaron was supposed to go with Dennis, but as they reached the security checkpoint, Dennis stopped him. “You go to the base, deliver something for me. Once you’re done, come back to Cabinda.”
Aaron nodded, “Yes, sir!”
Meanwhile, back at the base, Mr. White wasted no time sharing the good news with Camila Davis.
“Mr. Williams will be here soon,” he told her.
Camila tried to play it cool, but she couldn’t help feeling a little excited.
