Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 805

The voices of doubt were quickly drowned out, replaced by a fresh wave of angry condemnation.

“The Roberts family is shameless—resorting to such despicable tactics, absolutely vile!”

“They stole everything they have. How can they call themselves a prestigious family?”

“Disgusting! Families like that should be expelled from the circle!”

“The Brooks and the Hill families really got the short end of the stick. The Harris family was lucky to escape unscathed.”

Jarvis Peters wasn’t the least bit surprised by any of this.

After all, years ago, the Harris family had nearly suffered the same fate.

Thankfully, when they were framed, they caught on in time and worked desperately to save themselves, narrowly avoiding the same disaster that had befallen the Brooks and Hill families.

Back then, though, the Harris family had assumed the others had simply been careless, that their heirs weren’t as sharp or well-trained—hence their downfall.

No one suspected the Roberts family had orchestrated the whole thing.

Still, there was something Jarvis couldn’t quite figure out.

These events had happened decades ago—so why were these old scandals suddenly being dragged into the light tonight? And whoever was behind this clearly wasn’t planning to leave the Roberts family a way out.

As he tried to piece things together, a sudden thought struck him. He glanced at Camila Davis, a realization dawning in his eyes.

This must be someone’s way of punishing the Roberts family.

Given the trouble Lavinia Roberts had stirred up recently, it wasn’t hard to guess who she’d managed to offend.

Just as Jarvis reached this conclusion, Dennis Williams emerged from the crowd, his steady steps and unmistakable air of authority drawing every eye as he approached Camila Davis.

His voice was cool and low, but brooked no argument. “The Council of Old Families needs to set things straight. There are families here who don’t deserve their place.”

The entire room seemed to awaken at his words.

People had been wondering why Larry Adams, of all people, had suddenly decided to air the Roberts family’s dirty laundry. Now it was clear—he wasn’t the one pulling the strings.

All eyes shifted between Camila Davis and Dennis Williams, searching for answers.

For more than two weeks, Lavinia Roberts had been slandering Camila wherever she could, even manipulating people at the research institute in an attempt to sabotage her career. It was obvious her actions had finally enraged Mr. Williams.

“I heard that too, but she looks radiant tonight—healthier than ever.”

As the murmurs swept through the room, Neville Parsons stepped forward, his tone commanding. “Mr. Warren, Mr. Wells, Mr. Mark—”

He called out to several of the other leaders among the eight families. “Let’s hear your thoughts. How should we handle this tonight?”

Mr. Wells, who had watched the entire scene unfold from the back, stroked his white beard before speaking. “There’s nothing more to say. If the evidence is clear, I stand by your decision.”

Mr. Mark nodded solemnly. “I agree. The families need a new order. The Roberts family is unworthy of their position and should not remain second among the medical lineages.”

The Warren family’s representative added, “We should see the Brooks and the Hill families restored to their rightful places. Anything stolen must be returned, and the Roberts family must be barred from ever benefiting from what they took. What do the rest of you think?”

The crowd buzzed as one influential figure after another made their position known.

“My God, that’s Mr. Parsons, isn’t it?”

“What’s he doing here?”

Some guests who didn’t recognize him turned to their neighbors in curiosity. “Mr. Parsons? Who’s that?”
