Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 830

But his Camila was just too sweet, too willing. A few whispered words of love, and she would let him do whatever he wanted, abandoning all resistance. She was so intoxicating, it made him want to cherish her down to his very bones. And so, in the end, he had lost control.

The intensity of it all had surprised even him. He had never considered himself a man driven by desire. If he were, he wouldn’t have spent so many years without a woman by his side. After getting together with her, the floodgates of his long-suppressed passion had cracked open, but he had still managed to maintain his reason, never taking that final step. His self-control and endurance had always been formidable.

But last night, just one taste, and he was completely addicted. He couldn’t hold back any longer.

Now, seeing her pouting face, a single glance, a single petulant word, was enough to stir his heart.

He readily admitted his fault, his voice thick with affection. “You’re right, it’s all my fault. So, will you give me a chance to make it up to you?”

Camila looked at him, her tone righteous. “And how do you plan to do that?”

A smile curved Dennis’s lips. Before she could react, he swept her into his arms. “By personally carrying you to get changed and washed up. Let me take care of you.”

Camila let out a small cry, her arms instinctively tightening around his neck, but she didn’t refuse. They had shared the most intimate act possible, and besides, her current state of exhaustion was entirely his doing. It was only right that he take care of her. With that thought, she nestled into his embrace, a sweet smile playing on her lips.

In the walk-in closet, Dennis selected a few outfits for her to choose from.

Camila raised an eyebrow as she looked at his selections. “These are all pajamas.”

Her face turned beet red, her ears burning so hotly they felt like they were on fire. “Dennis Williams!” she hissed, calling him by his full name in a fit of pique.

Dennis pulled her into his arms, readily confessing his sins. “Yes, my fault. I shouldn’t have lost control just because you’re so delicious.”

“Shut up!” Camila slapped a hand over his mouth, mortified. “Just stop talking!”

He didn’t resist, a tender smile in his eyes as he took the opportunity to press a kiss into her palm. The heat of it made her glare at him again.

He soothed her with a gentle voice. “Alright, I won’t say another word. But it’s settled. You’re staying here tonight. Now, let’s get you dressed and washed up. Weren’t you hungry?”
