Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 920

He had hurt her so deeply, and now, with another man in the picture as a stark contrast, could she ever truly forgive him?

Meanwhile, Camila Davis woke up from a nap still feeling unwell. Perhaps because of the medicine she'd taken, her fever had broken, but her nose was still stuffy and her head felt fuzzy. Seeing she was awake, Dennis Williams brought over the lunch he had prepared for her. Camila didn't have an appetite, but Dennis coaxed her, "You have to eat something, or you won't get better."

Camila knew he was right, so she obediently sat up. Dennis knew sick people rarely had an appetite, so he had made her a light, nourishing soup. He had kept it warm, so it was the perfect temperature. Just as Camila was about to take the bowl, Dennis intercepted it. "I'll feed you," he said, picking up the spoon.

Camila looked at him with a helpless smile. "I'm sick, Dennis, not completely incapacitated."

He wasn't deterred. "I'm largely responsible for you getting sick, so please don't argue. Just let me take care of you."

Hearing this, Camila gave a soft laugh and playfully tugged his ear. "Oh, so you're feeling guilty now? Then why didn't you listen when I told you to stop last night?"

Dennis let her tease him, his tone completely unapologetic. "How could I possibly stop in a moment like that? Besides, my ears tend to go selectively deaf at the best of times."
