“What are you afraid of, Christina? Are you afraid that if you actually give your all that you’ll bump your brother down on that leaderboard? Hmm? Do you realize somewhere inside of yourself that you ARE better than he is, but you hold back, hiding in his shadow so no one knows the truth.”

“Dane is an incredible Alpha! He is strong and powerful!”

“If that’s true, then why are you hiding behind him? Get OUT of his shadow,” he snarls.

“You want me to hit you? Is that what you want? You want me to fucking hit you?” I snarl.

“I want you to be the Alpha female that I know you are. You seem to be the only person who doesn’t know who you truly are,” he snarls back.

I get back into position, letting the anger and frustration wash over me. If he wants it, he can fucking have it.

This time, I don’t hold anything back. I leap at him, coming at him hard and fast. When that doesn’t work, I leap again, shifting into my wolf and grabbing him by the shoulder, pulling him to the ground. Just as he shifts, I shift back, kicking his wolf in the face and knocking him sideways. As he rolls from the power of my kick, he shifts back, leaping to his feet and coming at me again. I don’t know how long we fight until I finally get him. down, throwing the full force of my punch into the stomach to take the win!

When I’m done, I stand over him, still in fighting stance, my

chest heaving with the exertion. Sebastian stays on the ground, but his intense gaze is on me.

“THAT is what I expect from you. I will not accept anything less than your best from now on, Christina. Nothing less than what you just gave me today. Nothing less than the Alpha female that you are.”

I feel myself starting to shatter, see it in his eyes the moment he realizes he’s broken me.

“Christina!” Alpha James barks, jerking me back to the here and now. I look over and see everyone watching us.

“You’re on lunch duty. Go get cleaned up,” he says more gently.

Alpha Will tosses me his shirt, and I pull it on, turning and walking inside.
