Daisy

The morning starts as any other. I wake up, wash my face, and brush my teeth before heading downstairs to make breakfast. I whip up some dancar batter and pull out some bacon and eggs for my family. While it would be easy just to eat at the pack cafeteria, I love cooking for my pups Tamile Enght as now I have to cook more than I used to.

I hum softly to myself as I flip pancakes and think of life as it is now. Nothing could be better honestly. Sure, not everything is perfect but then nothing can truly be perfect. No one should desire a completely perfect life.

One month after coming back home, everything has become routine. While some may say it’s boring, I think it’s wonderful after everything we’ve gone through. The peace is well deserved after the crazy war we were in. Those who deserved nothing but pain or suffering got what was coming to them. They’re not worth thinking of either since we’ve won.

I have no idea where Tristian Parker is now nor do I honestly care. Perhaps he was blinded and manipulated but in the end, he helped with the abuse my pup suffered through. While he shouldn’t suffer much for his sins, one person surely does: Dahlia Summers.

She abused Skylar most of all. She should go through the same thing but ten times worse. “You shouldn’t have such thoughts, Daisy. Let it go so that you can live your lives without thinking of useless things.” Aiden told me firmly. Even still I can’t help but relish the idea of my so–called twin sister’s suffering

Skylar doesn’t stay under my roof all the time as he needs to stay with Ebony all the time for his sanity but still… he’s here and well. Zoey and I trade off times to make things easier for the both of them and us of course. Right now, Sky needs his mate to recover. I find their little relationship adorable.

As I think of life as it is, a warm pair of arms wrap around my waist. I smile and lean back into my mate. “Good morning, love,” I say looking up into those ice–blue eyes. “It’s a wonderful morning, isn’t it?”

Aiden chuckles and nods. “That it is, my dear.” He kisses my cheek and smiles warmly. “It’s nice to be back here having some nice eye candy to look at and delicious home cooking to eat.” He grins cheerfully.

I laugh and gently nudge him off of me. “Oh, you’re such a tease.” I pile the pancakes up high and note his watering mouth. “Easy now. You wouldn’t want to drool all over the place.” I shake my head. “You’re worse than the twins were when they were small.”

Aiden whines in protest and crosses his arms with a pout making me smile. He’s such a kid sometimes. “I’m just hungry from all the running we did last night! The dawn light was beautiful.” He grumbles under his breath.

I only shake my head. “You’re so hopeless,” I say and continue to cook. Of course, we did take a stroll as the sun rose. Getting back to our old sleep schedule was easier than I expected. “Help me get the plates down, please. We have two more mouths to feed now.”

Aiden chuckles and does as I ask with a bright look on his face. He’s just as happy to have Skylar back. He’s an amazing father and I couldn’t love him more if I tried. I see him as my first and only mate. No one could ever replace him in my eyes.

A sudden wave of chaos sounds upstairs making me grinning. My twins are wide awake and getting ready for the day. I’m sure they’ll be waking up their brother soon enough.

“Hurry, hurry, Davin! We need to get Sky and Eby up before Papa eats everything again!” Lily calls after her twin their little feet scurrying around upstairs.

“Y–yeah! That would be horrible!” Davin stammers out and a door swings open. “Sky’s gotta learn or we’ll go hungry!

“Right?! Let’s go!” More scurrying feet and another/door swings out. “Sky, Sky! Wake up or Papa will eat everything!”

I barely make out faint grunts and look over to Ajden to see him scowling and pouting once more. “Hey it may have only been one time but you did traumatize the poor kids.” I pat his cheek and continue to cook.

Aiden groans softly. “And I’m never going to live that down…” he mutters and goes outside onto the front porch to sulk. Poor Aiden Rivers… he’s such a sweet Alpha wolf.

“Come on! Let’s go! Be quick!” Lily demands from upstairs. I giggle softly as I love her fiery personality. “Slowpokes only get crumbs with Papa around!” Their little footsteps come running down the stairs now.
