Chapter 101
Chapter 101
Skylar
The battle didn’t bother me when it happened. The other kids were scared and Ebony especially was terrified too. However, when I looked out and saw Moonlight pack members fighting alongside rogues, I could only think of one thing: it figures.
Nothing they do surprises me anymore. The way I see it, none of them are worth anything at all. Seeing how other packs are opened my eyes to just how dysfunctional Moonlight is… or rather was. Knowing that they’re nothing more than a band of rogu
left out in the elements brings me so much joy.
They’ve finally gotten what they deserve!

The only ones that are worth caring about are already here: the Omegas who against the rest of the pack and the former Gammas. I did worry about Grayson fighting when I looked over at Rina and their pup but he’s also an amazing fighter so when the battle was over and he came over to check on his family, it was just a sure thing.
Now I have to worry about my little siblings instead. I look at the twins and can only thin thing? Because of this, I haven’t made an effort to get to know them.

As I watch them now, Ebony nudges me gently. “Why don’t you try talking to them?” Sh so they shouldn’t be mean or bad.” She promises. “Daisy and Aiden aren’t incompetent so they wouldn’t be raised that way either.”
suggests making me cringe. “They were raised by good people
Incompetent… I chuckle softly as that word fits Dahlia and Tristian completely among other things. I wish Tristian wasn’t here but I don’t have a say in that. Saving a pack doctor… he’s up to something for sure. No one like him begs for redemption without bad intentions. No one like him will ever change.
“I’ll try.” I sigh softly wanting to make Ebony happy. I make my way over to the twins while holding her hand. “Hello again…” I say then tense when a pair of wide eyes turn my way. At least neither of them has those demonic red eyes.
“Hello!” Lily beams happily while Davin waves shyly. He’s more my pace but the twins are never apart. They work as a unit more than anything. “You finally said hi again! Yay!” She stands up and hugs me with a giggle.
I stay tense and dart my eyes over to Ebony. She smiles and gives me a nod of encouragement making me swallow. “Yeah… I thought I should get to know you… being your big brother and all.” I murmur trying to keep my voice calm.
Lily beams up at me. “That’s great! Wanna draw with us?” She hops around me a pair of russet–colored ears appearing on top of her head. I also see a fluffy tail wagging behind her. “We’re making some for Mama and Papa!”
Davin nods shyly. “T–they’re busy with the bad wolves so… I think it will be nice for them.” He says and looks down at his drawing. “S–so… why not join us?” He looks back up at me with wide purple eyes.
The both of them are like tiny copies of their parents… well, in looks anyway. Neit before nodding. “Sure… I’ll draw something for Ebony here…”
of them seems shy or bossy from what I’ve seen. “Um…” I hesitate
Lily beams and tugs me along. “Let’s go then! This is going to be so much fun, Sky!” She says happily and makes me sit down next to her. “You draw too, Ebby!” She adds while Ebony sits on the other side of me.
Ebony smiles. “Of course! I’ll draw Sky something… maybe Mom too.” She says and Davin gives us both some paper. “Shall we begin?” She looks at me before starting to draw.
“Of course,” I murmur and start to draw. I don’t know what yet but as it starts coming together, I realize it’s the lake from our shared dream. While I can’t recall every detail like what we spoke about, I do remember our meeting place.
I start adding the stars and moon that reflect in the lake. As I start relaxing, I look over to the twins and see them bickering and trading colors back and forth. I’m sure they’re spoiled as well but not to the same extent as Gracie was. If anything… these two are adorable.
A small smile forms on my lips and I look down at my pictures. Perhaps this won’t h purple?” I ask Lily who beams and offers it to me.

“Yeah! Ooh, your picture is so pretty!” Lily giggles softly. “You should be an artist, Sky!” I look at the drawing again and find myself picking it apart. With

everything I do, I see flaws. Perhaps it’s just how I’ve been conditioned to see things that way where I’m not good at anything.
“I didn’t have much to do when I wasn’t training so… I drew and hid them away,” I explain. I did show Tristian once but he tore it right in front of my face destroying any confidence I ever had in myself.
“Stop wasting my time.” Tristian had said harshly. “If you had time to make that trash then you should have done something productive!” I tried my best not to cry back then. All I could do was hide away in my room.
It also didn’t help that Gracie stole one of my drawings claiming it to be hers instead. “Oh my little pup, that’s wonderful! You’re so talented!” Dahlia praised her with bright eyes. When I tried to say it was my drawing, all Gracie had to do was break out into tears and I was sent down to the basement to be punished.
